Leather rips, tears, scratches.....
Do any of you guys have tears, rips, or scratches on the front seats in the leather? I've recently noticed that there are a few light tears/scratches in the leather of my driver seat, maybe from riveted jeans or something sharp or abrasive.. Do some of you guys have the same thing? Looks bad. I feel like this AMG leather is so easily scratched up..

I find that regular cleaning and conditioning of the leather greatly reduces the light tears/scratches in the leather around the bolster areas.

Yeah, I have a touch of the same thing. I've changed my thinking from caring about every little thing that shows wear or age to just enjoying the car. You can always get seat covers, but it reminds me of visiting my grand parents in Philly. They have plastic covers on everything. Anything that was meant to provide comfort in a couch is replaced by clear slip n slide plastic. Your *** sticks like hell when wearing shorts in the summer and trying to watch the iggles game at mom moms.

That's what I thought, what leather lotion do you guys use that doesn't give off a greasy/shiny look after applying? Some of these lotions are very bad in that sense.. I need a lotion that dries up after..

Modern leather is coated so cleaning is more important than conditioning imo
3 mf rags
Bucket of water and woolite, very mild
Conditioner of choice, I like combo cleaner/conditioner products
With rag 1 wipe everything down rinsing/wringing frequently
Pay extra attention to soiled areas
Rag 2 wipe dry
Condition LIGHTLY using rag 3
I like mothers foam or spray, very matte finish
Use rag 2 to wipe off excess
I can do mine in 15 minutes or so
I do it twice a year
In between I just wipe it down with water/woolite 5 minutes

Optimum makes a leather cleaner/conditioner that does not make the leather shiny or greasy.
It simply cleans the leather/vinyl and restores that original deep/matte/fresh color and feel.

Thank you sir
This way you remove the old product before applying new
Building up product on the modern leather is not good
I use distilled water, 1/2 gal and enough woolite to get some suds
You'll be surprised how dirty the water gets lol
Very small amount of product, should almost disappear as applied
I vacuum first and use the solution to wipe the carpets down after I'm done with the leather
I'm sure there are better ways but this works for me and is quick

As most people have already stated, it is pretty crucial you keep leather cleaned and conditioned. There are many good brands out there that you can use, just stay away from that walmart stuff. Although it won't get rid of the cracks and scratches it defiantly keeps the color of the leather looking brand new. The conditioning also prevents UV rays from damaging your leather and keeps new cracks from forming. You are probably good doing this once or twice a month depending on how often your car sits outside.
Also the expensive route (if you got money coming out your ***) is to replace the leather. There are companies out there that does stuff like this, but they most likely won't replicate the OEM look, but I've seen a couple in person and they look fantastic.
