Low fuel question
I am participating in a dyno day this weekend and planned to run 93 as well as MS109. My question is, when the low fuel light is on, does the engine reduce power at all? My buddy says his 135i reduces timing and boost in order to conserve fuel once his low fuel light is on. Does the C63 have anything like that or will I be safe running 1/8 a tank so i can switch to MS109 after some pulls? Thanks.

Thanks! Thats what i thought. It doesnt ever feel like it backs itself off. And the low fuel light seems to be on every other day so that would make for a lot of time at reduced power. Haha

I had a FBO 135i before this. Sold it to my brother who sold it to our best friend. None of us experienced any cuts in power with low fuel in that car. To be fair, we didn't look for it but I still can datalog that car and will see if it does or not.

Sounds like you have been handing it to your buddy on the streets lately

^ So he has aspirations of doing that MOTIV kit I assume. The n54 makes amazing power on that kit which is only a gt37, fuel upgrade, and a tune. Longevity is the question.
No doubt my 1 series was a surprisingly fast car. I think with a tune and pipes my c63 wont have a problem with the car though. I'll have to give my friend a run for his money. The one that is just killing me right now is a buddy of mine with a 4 door 335xi that is convinced he will walk my car. Sigh, kids these days.

I don't get it. Tell him to buy a 1m and then do the motiv kit. Some guys spend so much money on the car. Granted it is a great platform but damn... You can pick them up clean for <$20k and dump more than that into it.

I think he has some sentimental value in his car and he also wants the auto that he has in order to hold the power. He keeps telling me to get the weistec blower saying "it's only like $20,000..." I don't think he's too concerned with money.
