Power steering issue. Help!

So I just got done installing the Weistec supercharger kit for my car and everything is running well except for my power steering. It's making a lot of sounds like there's air inside. I figured there were minor air pockets still inside the system so I thought maybe it would go away on its own after driving. I've driven about 100 miles now and still no luck with the sound going away. The PS fluid also will boil out of the cap from the new reservoir after driving the car and turning it off. Then I have to top it off again with Pentosin. Any ideas why this is happening?

A new reservoir is required?
does it have a cap with level marks?
Oem has hot and cold min/max with the actual temperature ranges
The oem is full a few inches below the lip and will rise several mm when hot
If it overflows sounds like it is too full
Is the pump/belt installed correctly?

If over filled no room for expansion and air
Adjust level
Leave cap off
Turn wheel back and forth lock to lock a few times
Slowly and do NOT hold against lock

Yes, the kit requires you to relocate the reservoir and comes with a completely new tank. I am using the OEM cap for the tank but in all the pictures I see with the supercharger system, they have a billet aluminum cap. The pump/belt is on correctly and I did turn the wheel left to right 30 times like Mercedes procedures tells you to but still does it.

How full is the reservoir?
Should be 2" from the lip
Sounds weird it would expand so much to over flow?
Must be sucking air somewhere
Check all the connections
It could pull air when running but not leak when off

Do we have a bleed screw in this system? Regardless, it is recommended that you either have the front end in the air or you go lock to lock while the car is rolling. Do not go full lock to full lock while the car is stationary. As for the fluid boiling over, some seepage is not an uncommon happenstance in many vehicles even when the fluid level is correct. I have experienced it myself in other cars as well as this one, and my fluid level is exact on the mark. When I changed fluid for the first time the level was quite low (off the dipstick entirely) but there had been obvious leakage nonetheless.

Just looked an mine
In mm referenced from the top of the reservoir lip
Hot 80 C -40 mm to center +/- 2.5 mm
Cold 20 C -48 mm to center +/- 2.5 mm

So it expands ~ 10 mm when hot
The Audi only had cold marks but they said to make sure it was +10 mm if checked hot

Just now mine is cold ( setting > 24 hours) and is -1 mm from cold max in a 60 F garage

don't know if the measurements on the OEM cap will still apply since the reservoir and hoses are ran differently but I'll check when I get home. Thanks for your replies.

The point is you want some empty space in the reservoir
The fluid should be 2" from the lip, not full

The dealer filled my coolant to the lip and the temp was all over the place
Checked/adjusted when I got home (the expansion tank should be 1/2 full, there is a level tab) and everything stabilized

I was unaware that it is recommended to do the lock to lock procedure while the car is moving. It's a bit icy tonight so i'll probably try doing it tomorrow.

I just roll out of the garage and turn the steering wheel side to side at idle speed. My street is unmarked, plenty wide and lightly trafficked.

How did you ever resolve this? I just finished my install of a stage 1 Weistic and have the same problem.

Was anyone able to find a solution to this? Is there any truth behind having to have the power steering lines angled downwards?

Hey guys, which is the return hose for the weistec power steering reservoir ? I need to drain through that pipe and poor new fluid into the system while the car is lifted and rotating right to left .... TIA

The return is the smaller diameter hose. The the top of the two on the **** weistec reservoir

Remove the reservoir that came with kit. Fab up your stock reservoir where you can fit it. More than likely need to re-run the lines. Noise will be gone with stock oem res and lines sloping downwards

Excellent. The system was purged. From the colour of the fluid I don't suggest it has been bled at all. The car only has 54000 Km on it. No noise now at all.

Did you go back to the stock reservoir, or just purge the Weistec unit?
