H&R DIY?

H&R DIY?
Anyone have a DIY on the H&R Springs? My main question is about the rear spring? It appears that some of you are removing only the inner lower control arm bolt to replace the spring. Is this correct or do you have to remove the outer bolt, shock bolt, sway bar bolt etc?
Thanks!
Thanks!

MB makes a tool to remove the rear spring. It compresses it on the car and you pop it out. I borrowed one when I did it. A regular spring compressor might work/fit as well.

Thanks Merc, from the info. that I found on the subject it seems that the short cut on this is to remove only the (1) in board bolt on the LCA while having a jack under the arm. Lower the jack, spring pops out, shove new spring in, jack up arm to compress spring and re-install inboard bolt. I'm going to try what I think the process is and see how this works out.

I think that method with the Jack and bolt would be faster. This tool is annoying, it has to be positioned perfectly or you can't compress the spring enough to get it out. Or you put it too high on the spring and then the tool binds up when you try to pull the spring.
I'd pull that bolt and use the Jack.

Ahh, ok.
So for the fronts i will need spring compressors for sure.
cant do like the rear and just drop the same part on the front with the jack underneath it?

^ You'll need a compressor in the front for safely remove the springs in order not to receive it in your face when removing the top hat. And as well to reinstall the top hat on the new springs.
In the back you'll only have to work in the trunk area only if you want to change the shock absorber (in case of coilover install for example).
