A smart way to make power for your AMG is by utilizing the effective heat-shielding factory air box and dropping in a freer-flowing air filter element.
By retaining the functionality of the factory air intake system and removing the highly inefficient paper filter element, your engine can breath easier while resisting the heat soak that aftermarket intake systems fall prey to.
ECS offers only the most effective, test-proven Performance Air Filters for your AMG, with products by AFE, Pipercross, and K&N available.
Fits:
C63 AMG (2008-2014)

I personally recommend the AFE filters, they also are the favored filter to use on this forum as well. Pipercross would be my second recommendation because they are dry filters, so you will not have to worry about any issues with the MAF sensor.
You should get a slight increase in sound from using a more free flowing filter, but it wont be huge increase.
If you are looking to open up the intake system further I recommend looking into the ROW air boxes. We have kits on our site paired with both of the filters I mentioned above. You can get to them by clicking HERE or on the image below.

Do not get K&N!
After a few miles running my 2011 C63, my CEL came on. I pulled the code and it read Bank 1 lean and Idling lean. Should I just buy some MAF cleaner and K&N filter cleaner? Then clean off both pieces and not re-oil the filter.
Or
Just buy new MAF sensors and a Dry-type air filter.

Clean the sensors and get a dry filter.
