Transport shipping question

Hi, If a buyer buys a car out of state and has it shipped, how does the buyer insure that the seller (a dealership lets say) puts the purchased car on the truck and not some other car, assuming the buyer cannot fly out to ensure for himself?

not exactly sure how that part works, my father setup shipping for my 63 from cali to florida that arrived this past week. do you have a company in mind?

i went with montway, car was picked up within window time, and delivered on time. only thing i disliked was no live tracking.. i personally wanted to know where my 50k car was while traveling across the country. lol

Whatever company you hire to ship the car out will have the vin number and description of the car. They will verify vin and look the car over for any damage, note it on the shipping manifest and then load the car.

I did that when I sold my old car to a buyer in California. The truck came to my house to pick up my car.

Johnny is correct, they'll have the vin and exact details on the car. Had my CLK 550 and S55 shipped from another state. I would recommend, if possible, to have someone in that state you know go check the car out in person. When I bought my CLK 550 the owner failed to inform me about the cracked bumper and transmission problem it was having. All fixed now though =) but it wasn't cheap!

OK, makes sense. In your scenarios, had you already purchased the vehicle (sent the money) before the truck came to pick up? Or was it like upon arrival and verification of the car by the driver, only then did you pay/wire funds? I just don't want to miss out on this car to another buyer waiting around for transport to show up (because it has all the options I want with the right color, miles etc)

I believe I had made a deposit of part of the full amount and when the seller confirmed with me all the tracking information I paid the rest of the amount. Just get in contact with the seller and see if you can work something out.
