I changed these to LED's in my C350 before and never bothered with the AMG yet but looking at this thread makes me want to get rid of those ugly yellow lights. Is the install same as the C350? I remember it being a pain.

Is his the PIAA bulb everyone is talking about?

Is the install similar to the regular C? Pop the hood look in the corners and a twist off headlight is there so just twist it off remove old build and install new? Then install the lid back on?

No. No twist. Just pull straight back. I think theres a cover on each that you have to twist off first, but not the light sockets themselves.

Yes the twist of cover then pull out the blue and replace with the new. I think there is a video of this floating around on youtube. I remember watching it before doing the LED's on my C350.

I got the bulbs but looks like I completely forgot how to do it. Saw a twist off under the hood but not sure if that's the right one. Does it require the removal of plates on top first and then access to the back of the headlights? Totally forgot. Anyone post that instructional video that explained how to do it?

You don't have to remove anything...but it helps if you have the hands of a 5 year old...LOL.

It is a tight fit...be patient, or coach your gf on how to do it - - - smaller hands is a must for this job.

But I don't understand cause after I twisted off the cap thing I saw a squared metal part. I didn't see any bulb or anything that I could have pulled out to replace. And the twist off was quite far from the headlight so not even sure if that's the right one?

You have to pull the lead off...it is the plastic piece connected to the wires. Pull from the plastic, not from the wires, to prevent pulling the wires off the plastic connector. The bulb will be attached to the other side of the plastic piece. You have 4 of those altogether.

Hope that makes sense...

So I can't figure it out the both sides' outer ring has some metal thing in it which when I removed I noticed was a long bulb and looked like main HID bulb. I took pictures of bother the outer and inner ring. I'll post them here so hopefully someone here can help me out.

I remember making the same mistake. Those are not the eyebrows (if thats what you're looking for). Thats where the H7 bulbs are located. The eyebrow bulbs are much smaller twist tabs.

Yes I know those silver metal things aren't eyebrows. But that's what I am wondering though as to which one the eyebrows are. The silver metal part takes all the room and I don't see anything else.

Those are the directions I followed to do it on my C350 but the C63 seems different for some reason.

Looks like you are too low, it is up just under the metal piece at the top of your light. Like tailwag said you need little hands and it is one hell of an angle to get to even then. It took me forever but I got it done.

Oh yea one more step to make it even more complex. Remember DO NOT touch the glass of the lightbulb itself as the oils of your hands shorten the life of the bulb.

NOW GOOD LUCK, YOU'LL NEED IT!

Wow sounds complicated and absolutely different than my C350. I was able to do that with relative ease and it didn't have those square silver metal things in it for some reason. I think I might not even bother sounds like too much hassle and chance of it going wrong.

There are two twist off covers for the eyebrow bulbs. One is directly above the larger (low beam HID bulb holder) opening in your picture and just under the metal frame piece that runs over the headlight assembly. You can see it if you look down between the headlight and the front edge of the metal frame piece. The other one is on the same level just at the outer edge of the headlight assembly by the fender. They are definitely hard to see and small openings to work in but it can be done if you are patient. Pull the sockets out with needle nose pliers, insert your new bulbs and reinsert the sockets in their housings. The wires are fussy to get back inside the headlight assembly (curse several times as you probably have several times already) and gently push the wires back inside the housing. Just go easy and be gentle pulling the wires out of the headlight assembly and pushing them back inside. Twist the covers back in place and viola! Have a beer to celebrate. O ya, test them before you put them back in place just to be sure you have the bulbs inserted correctly in the sockets and that the bulbs are good. This is especially important if you are installing LEDs because they are directional regarding polarity as power will only go through them in one direction.

Anyone have a recent link that works? I tried most on this thread.

I do not want LEDs that will flicker or burn out... I understand this it a PITA to install.
