Anyone used these black lug bolts before??
I am getting some aftermarket wheels and I need some cone bolts (preferably black) searching amazon I came up with this one option anyone have any experience? It says they fit but I wonder about the quality as well as if they really fit. While I don't want to pay out the nose for the titanium bolts ($450) BUT I do want something that is going to be safe at triple digit speeds at a reasonable cost so I am willing to spend a bit more if necessary.

same brand? I just want to be sure these are made strong enough. Didn't think about them needing to be different lengths for different aftermarket wheels DAMN. Other than test I don't know how to verify that one.

The aftermarket wheel maker and/or seller should be able to tell you the proper seat and bolt length to use for their wheels. The bolt's thread diameter and pitch should be M14 x 1.5. Make sure you get at least 7 full turns on the bolts once they start to thread in.

And... I wouldn't trust any aftermarket wheel bolts unless I can see a 10.9 grade steel hardness marking on the heads no matter what the seller says. Just my $0.02.

I would look at a reputable manufacturer like H&R or RAD. Both of them make bolts in varying lengths, and if you can't get black ones, just use plastic caps.
P.S. Never mind - just re-read your first post and I see yours also take cone type seats. Will need to dig through some papers, but I am pretty sure I can find out where I got them.

Otis LA sells RAD but nothing in black. They do sell other lugs and have some in black. Don't be afraid to give Phil a call or send him an email for information.

I got mine from a local wheel shop. The box I got didn't have a brand on it. Mine have 27mm of thread.

Found the bill - I got mine from EZAccessory.com. This is the link to the black 40mm shank length cone seat bolts (item code 981BK):

SORRY SORRY SORRY - too much coffee today. I thought you were looking for 40mm bolts to use with spacers. The 28mm versions are here - item number 966BK:

I did end up shaving 10 of them ever so slightly (about one or two mm) on a grinder as with my wheels they were hitting the parking brake assembly in the rear (it could be just the mounting pad thickness on my rims). You can use a Porsche wheel nut as a guide to how far down you need to go if they hit the parking brake shoe springs in the rear as it is also M14x1.50.

I have a full set of black lugs with wheel locks I'm selling. $50 plus shipping. I had them on my Black Series and they are conical seated as well. I can assure you they are safe at triple digit speeds. Shoot me a PM and I'll measure them when I get home from work to make sure the length is the same as what you need. 28mm right?

The wheel locks alone sell for over $100 for a new set. The brand is Bull Lock ReGuard. Here is a link for more detailed info on how they work. They have a rotating ring that protects the unique thread lock. This keeps a thief from being able to jam a lug bolt wrench over them and take them off. The pictures in the link show how this works better than a standard wheel lock. I think $50 is reasonable for these locks and a set of lugs. I paid more than double for them new.

Diabolis - ok so you are running 16 of those but what are you using for locks? Or are you just running 20 of those with no locks?

20 bolts, no locks. Wheel thieves have special sockets that essentially make wheel locks useless. It has very sharp "teeth" that are able to cut into the metal, so they put it on the lock, whack it with a big hammer and just unsrew the lock like any other bolt/nut. Besides, when was the last time any of you have ever had their wheels stolen or know of someone that has in the last 15 years?

Good point, I guess the idea is you are trying to protect your wheels from "the kid down the street" because yes if a professional wants them they're going to take them or the whole car.
