Difference in sound/raspy between different exhaust setups...PLEASE CHIME IN!
I'm curious about the raspy sound and what should be left alone vs modded to keep the deep V8 sound, but increase the dB substantially.
I wouldn't say I'm necessarily against having a bit of rasp (as they increases the sound level) but would want a more clean sound.
Tal- since you've done so many various combos with this platform, you would probably be more educated to answer these well.
Can people chime in on the differences in sound, not just loudness, but clean/raspy addition on the following setups (by LTH, primaries deleted):
- resonator deleted only, everything else stock?
- secondaries deleted only, everything else stock?
- LTH only, everything else stock? (
- LTH + resonator delete, stock secondaries and stock mufflers?
- LTH + secondaries deleted, stock res and stock mufflers?
- LTH + resonator delete, secondaries deleted, stock mufflers?
Thanks in advance..

All I can comment on is that with secondary cats deleted, its a deeper sound, and a bit of rasp. With Resonator only delete, it's louder and much raspier from what I've heard.
I have heard a car with kleeman LTH and h-pipe, and it is LOUD, but it's a different kind of loud. It's not quite the same AMG tone, if that makes sense. It's not as choppy sounding, almost a bit smoother and slightly higher pitched. Imagine stock but listen to it in fast-forward...
That's about the only way I can explain it. I have posted a few videos up of my setup, which is stock with 2nd delete if you search for it.

What you will probably notice in these two, the LTH has a higher pitch, vs just the cat delete.
Here is LTH with X-Pipe...
And here is mine with just secondary cat delete...

Thank you, Johnny. Damn, yours actually sounds better than the LTH car. Deeper and more scary, if that makes sense.
I wonder how your car would sound with long tubes as well?

LTH + high flow cats + x-pipe/secondaries deleted, stock res and stock mufflers
Sounds like stock at idle and below 3k rpm. Sounds crazy at WOT. Still deep. Not at all raspy.
