My New (to me) 2013 C63 P31

I decided to start my own thread to introduce everyone to my baby. She a white 2013 C63 with every option available from the factory except the LSD. Let me say it so that you don't have to - what was the original owner thinking not getting the LSD?!

Before the C63, I was the proud owner of an 2009 E93 M3, but had been looking at C63's for a while, browsing the internet and looking for one that fit my wants/needs. I had a little girl in August of 2013 and, over the course of the first year of her life, I had driven my M3 between 600-800 miles. (I have an GMC Terrain that is my DD.) I quickly realized that my "fun car" needed to have 4 doors (hello carseat) and preferably more power than my current one - enter the C63 AMG. I began looking in September and throughout the next few months I saw several that peaked my interest. I saw the one that eventually became mine around the middle of January 2015. The deal was finalized a week later and I was one happy camper.

(I will post some pics of the inside very soon. I just don't have any handy at the moment. It has the two-toned black and beige interior.)

As with other cars I've owned, I drove it for a few weeks and quickly decided that I need to make some appearance modifications. Over the next 6 weeks, it jumped from shop to shop. Here's what was done:
- Windows Tinted (15%)
- Wheels powder-coated gloss black
- Trim around windows vinyl-wrapped gloss black
- Grill and DRL's painted gloss black (distronic star is still chrome)
- All grill items that were already black (but grayish at this point), including front splitter, were re-sprayed gloss black
- OEM rear diffuser sanded and sprayed gloss black
- All emblems (side and rear) blacked out
- Chrome trim piece on rear painted gloss black

Some AFTER pics:

Moving forward I would like to do some minor performance mods, but I haven't started on those yet. Here's what I have in mind:
- Eurocharged V5 Tune (I purchased the Tune + Handheld but haven't installed it yet)
- Long Tube Headers (I don't know which ones yet)
- Air Box & Filters (ROW? Carbonio? Renntech? I don't know)
- Cat-back Exhaust (Again I don't know which one yet)

I've really enjoyed belonging to this forum for the past few weeks and reading up on all the info within.

Any and all comments and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looks amazing!
Do you ever find the tint too dark to drive at night? I am also thinking of tinting 15% on my car.

leungsta 03-21-2015 05:37 PM

Haha man you're just like me.

I sold my full bolt on BMW 335i e92 in November. I've been shopping for either an M3 or C63. That day has come today, picked up a 2012 C63 coupe in white with black nappa. Car sounds incredible !!

Thank you. And no I never find it too dark. The tint does not affect looking inside-->out as much as it affects looking outside-->in. My windshield isn't tinted either.

You're going to love it and you won't regret going C63 vs. M3. Don't get me wrong, I loved that M3, but the way this car pulls is nothing short of AMAZING. Plus, I have always wanted a clean white car that is blacked out - my favorite look!

Thanks Kriston. Your C63 is one that has become sort of a "role model" to mine.

perfect example of how minor tasteful mods can completely revamp the look of the car. Welcome to the fold and grats on the purchase. She looks amazing!

Nice car there! tasteful mods too. Have fun with it!

P.S: Can we get a shot of the painted trunk piece? I was thinking of painting it black too but not so sure how it will look.

I am going to get pics of the rear up this week to show the emblems, trunk trim and rear diffuser all painted black.

Welcome! Very very nice transformation. Not sure about the middle star yet but blends well with the color combo. You have the V5 tune and not installed it yet , it literally takes less than 30 min so get on it! I'm not sure how you have held out this long :p:.

prashd 03-23-2015 01:56 PM

Transformation looks great!!! I moved from STI to C63 only couple of weeks back. Awesome car.

Welcome to the forum, can't beat white C63 but I'm biased lol

U forgot the chrome door handle.. J/K lol

iSpool 03-23-2015 05:10 PM

beautiful ride, man. I wrapped my chrome window trim with gloss black vinyl the other week, night and day difference and looks like BMW's shadowline which IMO every sports car should have.

could you post pics of the back?

has anyone wrapped their chrome handles? the shop I went to (deviant autosport if you're around Houston) offered to do it but I wasn't sure how good it would actually look. I'm going in to get the fog light surrounds done soon and still debating the handles.

The shop that did all my paint offered to remove the door handles and re-paint them white to color match the car. The price was $100 per handle. I passed but left the door open to getting it done sometime down the road. For some odd reason, the chrome on the door handles doesn't bother me as much as the rest of the chrome did.

And for everyone that has asked, I will get some pics of the back up here within the next day or so. I've been crazy busy at work this week and have a sick kid to boot. Come onnnnnn Friday lol

Roswell 03-25-2015 10:10 PM

100$ per handle? Wow, that is robbery lol

Have them vinyl to match ur car color, it should be no more than 20$ & no one will tell if they are painted or wrapped since it's such a small area of the car.

kjkidd21 03-29-2015 07:15 PM

For those that have asked, below are pictures of the chrome strip on the back, emblems and OEM rear diffuser painted gloss black...

Your car looks great! Is there anything you miss from your M3?

Huchimo01 03-31-2015 12:54 PM

I just picked up my 2013 C63 on Friday and looking to do the black out thing. Did you paint the trim pieces yourself or have someone do it for you? Curious to know as I'm pretty much ready to begin. I won't powdercoat the OEM AMG wheels, but will keep them as spares. Nice job though.

sakodik 03-31-2015 03:46 PM

Beautiful!!!!! I wish mine looked as good and had parktronic.

It was a convertible, so I miss that a little bit. I was also much more comfortable at higher speeds around turns (like on/off ramps), but it may just taking some time getting used to the C63.

All in all, I like the C63 better. The torque at low speeds is intoxicating!

Yeah I'm just not a fan of chrome on cars. It baffles me when I see a car that has ADDED chrome accents :nix:
