Need help re Diff Oil Cooling

When I tracked my car last time the diff got hot. It vented oil and stank. The C63 does NOT have a temperature sensor or alarm there. Looking into adding the BS Track Package diff oil cooling package or equivalent. Buying the whole thing part by part from Mercedes is prohibitive - about 6000$ just in parts, at wholesale/mail order prices. The pump alone is 1150 to 1550 (wholesale/retail).

So I am looking into a generic equivalent, maybe buy a part or 2 from Mercedes and add generic parts for the rest. For example buy the radiator core and rear diff cover with oil return coupling and temperature switch from Mercedes, but buy oil lines and pump separately, and have my installer fabricate the brackets.

Here is my help request:
1. Does anybody have pictures of the location of where and how the radiator is installed? Or can you maybe take a picture? Please post them or send by PM!!!
2. Any ideas on how to best go about this project? Have you done it or something similar before?

Thanks a lot, all!

I have figured out #1. The diff cooler is the real reason for the voluminous diffuser with the grille in it. There is a duct that goes behind it and the diff oil cooler radiator goes there. Very nicely designed, but pricey, the whole deal......

This is a CLK. Wouldn't a C63 install be similar.

odonnks,

thanks for the picture! Yes, it is similar. The rear diffuser situation is a bit different, but that is already clear. The fact that the connections to the diff were visible in the picture, and the oil pump, were very helpful.

Appreciate!
