I just bought 2 weeks ago from Walmart.com. Think each 5qt jug of 0W-40 came out to $24 with free shipping. Can't beat it.

Sorry to ask this repeat question but is the 0w good enough for us? I usually use 5w but I don't see the formula m 5w on the Walmart website. The price on the 0w is great, so wanted to take advantage. I am in LA, so temps are usually 80s, gets as low as 40s in winter.

Mobil 1 had a rebate promotion of $15 off 5 qts. that expired 05/31/15. Can you say $35 DIY oil change? I knew you could!

They don't list it on the Canadian site. 5w40 Turbo diesel truck is the closest and it is $46.97/4.4 litres and not available for shipping, in store pick up only. No joy for Canadians.

i'm gonna jump on this. the "european car formula" is the same as "formula m"? and it's OK to mix some 5w in with the 0w, right? i have a few quarts of the 5w left...

Why would you need to do that, the oil circulates so it isn't like the oil in the cooler sits there and never gets changed. With the mityvac your probably changing 99% of the oil in your car, when you pull the drain plug you probabaly get 99.5% of the oil. I would say the mityvac is close enough and honestly it makes the change super easy. Doing mine next week with my mityvac mv2701 (purchased from amazon last year when I needed to change my oil).

The cooler itself holds a quart.
Think of it this way. If you didn't have a oil cooler would you drain the sump change the filter, add new oil and top it off with 1 quart of what you just drained out? Not draining the cooler is doing the same.
Granted, the importance of this depends on how hard the car has been ran between changes and how often the changes are done. The more frequent the sump is vac'ed and filter changed the better.

I bought Penzoil 5 w40 synthetic, says it is made from natural gas, for 24.00 + or - five qts for my lawn mowers.
I don't change the oil in the Mercedes. I let the Dealer do it. Excellent service.
I was interested in the thread on Mercedes not using Mobil One now. i didn't get the chance to ask Service this time what they used.
Wal Mart has some pretty good prices but I noticed the newer formulations of Mobil One were up to the eleven dollar a quart range.
