Lift points and jack pads

I really did search before asking this, but came up dry.

Do you use any kind of pad between your hydraulic jack and the lifting point pockets on the car?

Once you have it up with the hydraulic, where are the best places to put jack stands?

Hockey puck or a block of wood. You can also get urethane pads. All of this on Amazon - in fact when you look up jacks, it recommends that you buy a hockey puck also it's such a popular choice.

The points are rubber coated already, what are you worried about?

Jacks, under the control arms near the mounting point.
