best way to align rear emblems when putting on?

The owner before me removed the rear trunk badges and tossed them. Why is beyond me.

Anyway...I am looking to buy new ones and put back on.

Two questions....where to buy oem genuine rear emblems in gloss black?

What's the best method to make sure the emblems align correctly?

I don't want cheap knockoffs and also don't want to misalign them. Thank you for any help. .

Also....how difficult is it to replace rear trunk emblem? DIY steps? Is it just clips or how is it attached and replaced?

Thank you

If you have ANY access to another c63 I would see about making some paper templates for each side using the corner of the trunk and the spoiler as reference points and you should be good to go......

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I posted similar question a few months ago and another forum member suggested getting UV lamp from Amazon.com. With it, you can see the silhouette of the previous badges' position. I have not tried it, but I think the suggestion is quite plausible and worthy.

Wow really? UV lamps and measuring for emblems. Seriously. It's held by double-sided tape. Don't make this more difficult than it needs to be, eyeball it.

As BLKROKT suggested, it's best to eyeball it. You can use painters tape as a guide to help layout where you'd like to place the badges. I have some more detail on my post here.

As for the star, it's held in by three pins near the center. I would use plastic tools and pliers to carefully pull the star straight out.

Thank you ...this was helpful. I will definitely use this procedure to put on the badges and remove the star.

where would you guys recommend I purchase OEM MB trunk emblems? I do not want plastic parts and would rather buy OEM and pay a bit more.

thanks! !!
