Service B For My 2014 C63 AMG
So the car is reminding me that the service B is almost due so i called my MB dealer, then they gave me a quote of 750 dollar (canadian0 which is around 500US. and after i checked a few places online i start to notice that the only thing that was done was pretty much an oil change and a bunch of "visual inspection" do i really have to do that ? or an oil change should be enough already ? guys any suggestions ?

when you're still under warranty it might be worth it to have it dealer maintained just to avoid potential warranty headaches even at the dealer premium.
My car is well out of warranty and every service just gets an oil change.

2013 C63 Sedan
I did my service B in February this year.
Oil and filter change
Engine air filter change
Cabin filter change
Add Fuel additive
Brake check
Came out to $797 including taxes in BC.
But I managed to get this service waived.

$550-1200 for an oil change and visual inspection .... Not a Fing chance. Do it urself and keep receipts or find an Indy.
I bet for that kind of money they run your car through their automatic sand ur paint off car wash. They just want to make it have that nice swirl pattern in the paint like all the other used cars on the lot.

$500 for an oil change? AHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH
I just changed my own oil last night with Motul 8100 and an OE Hengst filter (waaay better than Mobil1) for $91 shipped to my door. Ugh, stealerships are the worst.
On another note, how is everyone on the C63 forum from Canada lol?

i know specifically for the newer Subaru STi, with their ringland issue, if your service record doesn't indicate that the vehicle was serviced at a Subaru dealership or some sort of "reputable" shop, Subaru NA would fight to deny that ringland repair under warranty. I would venture to guess that Mercedes is similar in that aspect.

now a year later it says im due for b service again, which i think is wrong since i just did it but from my digging it looks like previous owner of my car didnt get service done at a dealer and or skipped an entire service so the computers wrong.

An oil change on these cars is stupid easy. The hardest part is disposing of the old oil.
The 20K service should be cheaper because it does not require the dif or tranny. The brake fluid should be changed every 20k miles or at every service B.
This is all in the manual. Do them at an indy shop and keep your receipts.
For those who paid $700 for the 20k mile service; what were you thinking?

I definitely understand the not wanting to deal with it or to get dirty. I've taken care of my own cars for years, and now that I don't have to, I sometimes have it done by others. But oil and filters for that $ is just wow. I'm way too cheap for that. A good extractor and you don't even have to get under the car (though a good visual inspection under there really isn't a bad idea).
About to sell my '09 and will do be doing the fluids and the like so the new owner has nothing to even think about for 10K, except ordering new rear tires way sooner than their wife would expect. Cheap and easy.
