Found this C63 for Sale. STEAL?!

Found this car for sale (2009 C63 with 95k miles for $24k) and tried to get my friend to jump on it. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the liquid cash for it and he tried to get a loan through his credit union for it. They said he could get the money for the car, but only if it was a dealer selling the car, but couldn't get a loan for a private sale. sucks.

I think the car is priced pretty accurately if it were stock, but it seems to have over $7k in mods alone (not including installation costs and whatnot).

i haven't spoken to the owner of the car personally and don't know him, but i'm assuming he wouldn't mind me posting the link for him. from what i was told from when my friend spoke to him, he got a new job and has to move overseas ASAP. car must be sold by monday otherwise it is being sold to a dealer i'm guessing.

if it's not a good deal, then flame away, but i thought someone might think it is and hopefully one of you guys can jump on it and get it.

On the laws of averages I would avoid a car with that much power with 95k miles and certainly would not get a loan for one.
No clue on ownership, no clue on how it was maintained or if it was abused and or modified in a garage.
Too many questions, not enough answers. Buying something sight unseen is a scary thing.

Well buying something sight unseen with 95k miles is scary.
Buying a CPO car with barely 10k miles is not.

Yes price is more or less at market. Generally mods do not add value to the car unless the buyer really wants it. If it was properly maintained and documented I don't see why someone wouldn't buy it.

yeah mods generally don't add value, but i feel like that's moreso something potential buyer's have convinced everyone when trying to negotiate a lower price on a car. you put two cars with the same exact year, mileage, and specs next to each other for sale and one of them has like $10k in aftermarket mods including power mods that i'm guessing most people like and which one do you think is usually going to sell for a higher price through a private party sale?

that being said, i think it's priced pretty accurately for the market of a stock car...so the buyer would essentially be getting all the mods for free.

wish my friend had been able to get it...but best of luck to you on the sale!

Like I said It really depends on what the buyer is looking for. Some prefer to have a stock car and install the mods themselves because they know how the job was done and so on. Others (the least majority) prefer if mods are already on the car. People are more suspicious/less comfy buying a modded car than a stock because all mechanic mods are a risk game we play. That is why the recommendation is to part out your mods as you will have more chance to get some money back from it.
Again it all comes down how the car was maintained and taken care of. A seller with documented service history and modification history will have no issues selling his to the right buyer.

OP. Tell your friend to apply for a loan through Penfed Credit Union. As long as he has the credit and income, they should approve him. Not to mention Penfed has some pretty stellar interest rates. I'm looking to refinance my car with them and should get my interest rate knocked down 25-40%.

This I don't entirely agree with. Depends on age and type of car I guess. For a 10 year old car, with the justified price difference, I'd be more interested in a 90k mile well maintained car rather than a 10 year old 10k mile car. Only because I know that the 90k car was driven and used and serviced, whereas the 10k mile car just sits there.

Of course exotics and supercars are the exception. I'll take a 10k mile Ferrari over a 90k mile Ferrari all day. lol. Not to mention cars of a higher caliber tend to get maintained better. In my eyes, the C63 is just another everyday car. If it were a black series, then the opposite of what I said is true. hahhahaha

But of course that's just my opinion. I've bought a lot of 80k+ mile cars.

There are some very nice cars with 90k on them, but the law of averages tells me that a lot of major and pricy services are due around that time, and since this is a very high performance motor, many things can and will need major attention. Its ALWAYS best to buy at say 10k than a well to do 90k just based on averages.
Saying cars of a higher caliber tend to get maintained better is not always true. Tracking a car like this puts really tough miles on it, and I would personally stay away if it were me.
But buying a 90k car will allow you to do things to it you may not have the courage to do to a newer less mile car. It may depend on where you are financially and your ultimate plans for the car.

Well, I would probably buy this car in a heartbeat if I didn't already have one. Very nice, tasteful mods and a well maintained car at a great price...what more to ask for?
Good luck to Mbm6f and I hope you get another one day!

Sold to anyone from the DC area by any chance? Just curious because I directed a few people your way who all said they would try and get in touch with you.

No disrespect to the seller but at 7 yr, 95000 miles and 5 owners according to the report how well is it documented? Service records? I believe this is a candidate for head bolt replacement. Done.
Lots of risk in my mind but maybe you go look at it and have it professionally inspected by someone who knows what they are doing before laying down your coin.

Hey, welcome to MBWorld. Be sure to start a new thread, introduce yourself and post pics of your ride!

Here's an easy way to search - Easy way to search/find info
A good place to find info - https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-stickies.html

A lot of vendors on here have sites...those sites have pictures...those pictures might look like the diffuser you are looking for...research complete.

Also it's great to just send the person a pm instead of resurrecting an older thread.....because that will annoy others.
