Fault Code P2317 Anyone?

Has anyone seen this code come up on your C63, or any Merc for that matter? I don't have a CEL light at all, but when I scan fault codes on my car using the Torque app, I get this error shown in the photo. And it comes on and goes off - within minutes/almost per refresh.

I know some of these fault codes are universal across all car makes, while others can mean different things for different makes. Again, no CEL was thrown so I'm not sure if this is of grave concern. Either way, I'd like to resolve for sure. I will check it out at the dealer or any indy shop, but thought I'd ask if anyone had dealt with this before.

I looked that code up in Alldatadiy for a 2010 C63 and the Code P2317 is not listed. Not sure what that means exactly but perhaps that code does not apply to you car and it is an anomaly with the Torque app.

Thanks for checking that for me Mort! I'm new to Alldatadiy, but would that include all available codes for the W204 C63? Anyway, I'm hoping you're right, but I'll run it by the dealer in a few days and keep an eye on it until then.

P2317 - The control line to the ignition coil of cylinder 7 has a short circuit to ground.

Cylinder 7 is this one labelled X. ----^---- is the front of the car.

Check your wiring / and or the coil pack.

Damn..that doesn't sound good. Other than clearly obvious visual problems, I'm not sure what/how to check functionality of the wiring or coil pack. If it is the coil pack, would it be as easy as buying a single replacement coil pack and replacing #7? Thank you Wiggis

I get that same code with torque app.its a glitch.i can scan car with other obd software and no codes come up.i also tried older torque versions and code doesn't show up.i get it with the last few torque updates.

had my car scanned with star and no pending or stored codes but with torque I get the same code as you.

Hmm...emotional roller coaster here lol...but I want to side with your conclusion. I also thought it was odd that there was a fault code, and yet no CEL came up. Thanks for letting me know skratch77 and btw awesome exhaust sound you have there..

I've got Torque Pro and don't see that code. So long as you don't have any misfires or other issues, you could ignore it. However, I'd be tempted to check the wires to that coil pack for any obvious abrasions or damage before putting it down to a glitch. And a new coil pack is not expensive if it turns out you need one.

Yea I'm at more ease now but I wouldn't let this go that easy. I'll look into it further especially because my motor at times seems to idle somewhat unbalanced(?) Thanks Wiggis for pointing me off in the right direction in that respect

Hey thanks AMG3.2. I did the best I could with the crazy rear offsets our cars have and got some HRE FF15s. Seriously loving your setup though. That's awesome what you did to your rear fenders, they turned out great. Coming from an E46 M3, I really miss having deeper lips/concavity especially in the rears...

Hey Wiggis - btw how did you know the cylinder number (7) and which cylinder that was just based on the code? Whatever database you're using sounds helpful. I was just wondering if I can take a peek.
