Custom dash piece to hide phone number buttons

Odd question that I haven't found any threads on...has anyone ever attempted to make a dash piece to hide all the phone number buttons on the right side and "disc/nav/etc." buttons on the left, to make a much cleaner center dash piece? See the photo for what I am talking about. I assume you could take the stock piece off, remove the protruding buttons, and put a custom flat piece back in place. IMO it would look much cleaner as pure gloss piano black/CF. The functionality should still all be available either on your phone or within the media system.

I think it would look odd and stick out. And I personally use those buttons all the time for presets or changing between different modes of the stereo.

So you want to switch between all modes with a series of knob pushes and twists, when you could just touch a single button for radio or nav or phone or a radio preset?

I wouldn't want to cover those buttons.

You're getting blasted but I like the idea. I NEVER touch those buttons. I mostly run spotify through my phone or use steering wheel controls.

If anybody comes up with something solid, I'd like to hear it.

Like most mods? It's all about what makes you happy with your car...and hell, the work is the reward half the time, right?

Nope. I photoshopped all the buttons gone so it all sits flush and it looks horrible lol. Even if it was all gloss, it still looked pretty bad.
