Installed CF shifter and alcantara boot today.
Easy peasy to do. Quite nicely ties together the alcantara on the wheel, and the CF trim. Disappointing that on the 2012+ they actually decreased the amount of CF in the interior trim and replaced the center console stuff with the black piano.
I find the shifter/boot actually look better against the black gloss. Oh and no the boot actually pinched/pulled as it looks in the photo. Fitment is just fine, I just didnt have it 100% squared away when I took this pic.
A mod a day keeps boredom at bay!
Oh and my alcantara wheel was the one dirty part on my car. No idea why the dealer doesnt know how to clean that, but I have revived it to pretty decent health and will post a DIY soon.

Ive always thought the stock one kind of plain and cheap looking. This literally gives it a better feel.

I got it from www.formymercedes.com. Great guy, with a pretty decent variety of stuff. I dealt with him for a few sets of illuminated sills for me and friends etc.
Heres the shifter page:

Mine is style 7224, but obviously in CF. Real quality piece, made in Germany with a nice weight and feel. If you dont see what you want its worth dropping him an email.
Alcantara boot I got off another member ages ago.

damn, this is definitely something I would go for. the finish is great. I don't want to go thru the trouble replacing the piano black trim with CF ones - I saw someone is selling those on the forum. But if the knob is that easy to do, I am in. Thanks for sharing man.

Glad I could help! And thanks for saying that. I kinda felt a little OCD posting up about this lol, but that makes it worthwhile!
