REST function

I'm wondering what markets have this REST feature in the air conditioning controls and who uses it. Here in Australia it is standard, but as per the manual, The residual heat function (REST) is only available with THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control. For those of you that have it but have never used it or dont know about it, its very useful in winter. The idea is that if youve been driving around in the cold with the heater on and you stop to go to the shops etc, when you stop the car and turn it off, you press the REST button. It will then make the heater blow warm air (low setting) for 30 mins. So when you get back in the car, its nice and warm. Also, if you stop somewhere and have to wait in the car, its a way of keeping the car warm without having the engine running. It monitors the battery voltage and will turn off automatically if it runs low. I find it handy in winter. The manual says, If you activate the residual heat function at high temperatures, only the ventilation will be activated. so Im assuming that in summer it would keep air blowing around the car which might keep it slightly cooler if you were coming back to the car in 30 mins or so.

That's a great feature! Maybe there's a reason cars are more expensive down under.
On US cars, to my dismay, we don't get the REST function. Your 'REST' button says MAX on the FL cars here.
The circular control on the left side of yours is split horizontally with AUTO on top and a recirc icon on the bottom. Ours is not split and it only controls AUTO.
