Anybody have the DIY for lower idler pulley?
Posting here because not many e63s on the w211 amg forum.
I have a weird chirping sound coming from the front of the car while my car idles. I recently had my car at mercedes to get my lifters, camshafts and head bolts replaced and while they were doing that they told me that my lower idler pulley is making noise. I've searched and searched but can't seem to find a DIY for this. Can anybody point me in the right direction or provide a DIY for this? I also can't figure out which one the lower idler pulley is. Is it #3 or #7 in this picture? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7917809e13.jpg TIA! |
Geez. All the time I've spent under the hood and I never realized how many pullies we have up front. Interested in the answer as well

Once thats off I just loosen the lower idler pulley and put on a new one? Sounds suspiciously easy to do... :rolf: |

Thanks! So im guessing once i turn the hex counter clockwise after using a pin to hold it in place it'll release enough tension for me to slip the belt off from the pullies?
