2008 Mercedes C63 AMG
Suspension.....
So I'm in need of some advise...I have a 2008 C63 amg, I want to lower it but not sure which way to go lowering spring or coilovers. I want a good clean drop and good ride. I have looked at the h&r sport springs, they seem to have good reviews.
I have a Porsche that I lowered on springs and it didn't lower it enough so I had to order coilovers to achieve the stance I was looking for. I just don't want to go back down that road of wasting money and time.

I want a meal that is spicy, but not TOO spicy ya know?
No way we can know what you think is low enough.
There is a whole thread on here full of pics of guys on H&R sport springs. If that looks good to you then you know which way to go, and if it doesn't, well, then you go the other way.

For a street driven car, the H&R springs are a good setup. It has a nice drop with a slightly stiffer ride than the OEM springs.
The KW V3 are the most popular Coilovers setup for our cars. It's around $3k, but for versatility between and street and track setup, it'll be your best bet. It's still a stiff ride, but more composed than the springs setup.
My recommendation is to try out the H&R springs. They're cheap enough to try out, and if you decide down the road to upgrade, it's not too much of a financial loss. If you're interested, I'm selling my H&R springs for $200 shipped CONUS. Around 5k miles used.

Coilovers are by far the better way to do it. I don't like doing different height springs on an adjustable dampers like the Merc.
It sort of kicks it out of balance. The car was meant to ride at or near a certain height and when you change one and not the other to match, it makes it a bit wonky.
If you can afford it, always do a good set of coilovers. You may not need the best track stuff if you don't track it, so you won't need to highest dollar ones, but I would still go with a shock and spring kit that is matched for the car and each other.
