Any way to tell if my car is tuned?

I just bought a used 2013 C63. It's the first one I've driven, so I don't have any driving feel to compare it do vs a known stock (or modded) one. It has the P31 package, but last night I believe I went over the stock limited 174 MPH, so now I'm wondering if it may have been tuned by the previous owner. Are there any other ways, short of going 180+, that would tell me it's been tuned?

Send in your VIN to Eurocharged to see if they've tuned it?

Throw it on a dyno and do a 5th gear pull. I think mine went 186 mph on the dyno in 5th. That will let you see how much power you are making too

Where the heck we're you able to get up to 174+?? Airstrip event at night?

He must have forgot to put "in Mexico" after the I went 174mph!

Congrats on the purchase. Guys chime in here but I think the P31 package wasn't ECU speed limited?

not that its impossible, i just want to know the answer to this as well...

Sorry for the delay guys, busy weekend. Naturally I just went to Mexico and an abandoned runway :zoom:. It doesn't take much to get up there and it's a hell of a lot more stable than most cars at speed.

A bit of an update, it turns out it IS limited, just at 180. I guess it's 174 +/-. So tune shopping I go!

I think the best bet is to throw it onto a Dyno to find out. If it's not tuned, as least you have a baseline for when you do more mods after! :)

Not that I know a single thing about you beyond your thread here, but you sir seem to probably be the last person who "should" tune a C63! I have a funny suspicion you will find out the top speed of this vehicle while unlimited!
In any event, I wish you and everyone around you well.

I certainly don't want to paint a bad image of myself considering how new I am, and I completely see where you're coming from.. especially without knowing me or the conditions for my comments on here. The C63 is my DD and I'm not speed racer around town. I tested the performance under very controlled circumstances. The weekend car is a fully built C6 Z06 (600+rwhp, high 9s on the 1/4,) and I participate in sanctioned racing events so I'm no stranger to high horsepower or car control.

I'm in kind of a dead zone when it comes to dynos. The nearest one is about 1:30hr away and I work too much to make it during shop hours. That being said, the C63 is something I'm looking to keep mostly stock. I have a bad habit of going crazy on car builds so I'm trying to be good and just drive it.

Put it in S+ or M and get up to around 40-50 in 5th. then come off throttle and hit paddle down to 4th and then 3rd. If its a crack/pop sound from exhaust on downshifts then you are possibly tuned.

Lol I was partially kidding bud.
I get it, if I found an area where I knew I wasn't endangering anyone else, I'd push it! No judgement passed bud.
