Fat chance of me finding anyone around here that A) I would trust, B) that has a $65 an hour shop rate and C) would finish up before the W207 model comes out.

At this price a bs conversion makes more sense than this imo

This is still cheaper than a BS Conversion.

He's only about $4,000.00 in before paint. I reckon you can negotiate something to be around $5,000.00 w/ Paint, that's really not too bad at all.

Pricy for sure, but it's custom metal work, and you never have to worry about anything cracking or anything.

EDIT: I would add though, at this point, I would search for a BS Front w/ Fenders. I find it a bit odd to add a wider rear, and still be left with the skinny fronts IMO.

Not even close. I got mine done at Harry's place. Went all the way down to bare metal like this, and got about 2" stretch on each side. It's way less expensive than you think, including the full repaint of the rear quarters.

Exactly Phil, metal is the way to go. And you can get quite a bit of stretch out of the rear quarters without adding metal. The rear fenders actually match the fronts much better now, which were already disproportionately wide compared to the original rear fenders.

Metal Fenders are the best for overall longevity IMHO. This is the next best thing aside from the BS conversion.

When we did my fenders the rears were stretched to be proportionate to the front (which were already wider as BLK mentioned)

Dude. Nice! That's a hell of a tire on that rim though. Have you felt and looseness via sidewall flex in the rear? I didn't read your thread, just looked at pics so you may have mentioned it there.

No, they for sure are generally speaking.

I really think you'd ONLY want to go the HMS route if you have an extremely knowledgeable and competent body shop. How they adhere the panels to the existing fenders is the key. You get this wrong, and that's when 5 years down the line, you're susceptible to seeing panel lines etc.

The shop wasn't able to stretch mine. Which is why the fenders were cut and custom metal fabrication commenced.

Dropped the car off at the body shop. Should expect something within the month. Meantime I got pics of the fat tires mounted.

Are those 285s stretched on a 9" rim?

Nice specs. I wish I had an extra 1/2" rim width front/back to play with. Right now I'm on 10/8.5. Next time I get new wheels for this car, I'll go with 11" in back and 9" (maybe 9.5") in front.

Are these new wheels or your old ones? Did you consider going 11" in back? You're going to have plenty of room.

These are my old wheels just had them straightened out/replaced few broken bolts and refinished.

The fenders were stretched based off the poke of these wheels set at zero camber. So they are flush currently.

So the shop finally had time to fit the front wheels.

They are a bit aggressive with the new tires. So we tried to do a fender roll/pull.

This was the most he was able to get them to stretch. Told him to do the other side so I may test drive it to see if they rubbed. Than tragedy occurred.

The front passenger fender cracked right below the body line. It was previously bent before so this wasn't his fault. But everything happens for a reason.

Car is now going to undergo a custom front aluminum widebody. So the car went from only rear custom fenders to a full widebody.

A different person will be doing the fronts since we are now dealing with aluminum. But this person did a friends car full widebody which turned out perfect. Car is being trailered there tomorrow.

Well, that's good and bad I guess. We opted not to touch my fronts for exactly that reason and I can still get a 255 and probably 265 under there if needed. BUT your car will look totally mental with wider front fenders, so I bet you're looking forward to that. What size tire were you trying to get under there, and what's the rim width and offset in front?

Alright I'm sure you've all been waiting see what the car looks like with the wheels on. So here we have all the wheels on. Car is at the new shop to TIG weld custom front fender flares on, which won't take long as he plans to knock it out quick. Alignment will decide final outcome of fitment but as is the rear is all good for lots of play. I can always add spacers to perfect the fitment.
