Just curious, how much ya think?
I know there is a metric **** tonne of info on this but I want a specific answer to a a specific question.
I think Im gonna delete my 2nd cats, and replace with straight pipes. No need to go buy an X or an H or anything like that. Just gonna get em cut out, and replaced with 2 straight pipes. Should be just about any damn competent shop able to do that? How much ya figure? I just wanna make sure I don't get hosed. Spare me the search. Ive earned at least one fast answer around here lol. |
Mine was around $420 for everything you described, parts (steel) and labor. If they don't use steel, it will be a bit cheaper. I have seen around $3-500 for the average on the forums.

K. Thanks. I probably could have PMd you cos you were one of the guys I was hoping to hear from.
I gotta pay cash, cos if my wife sees a credit card slip where I am paying money to make this car any louder..... Once its done tho she will have no idea. To her we sound the same as an F150 with a hole in the can. |
yeah, shouldn't cost you more than a few hundo. a muffler shop here in Tucson said they'd do my resonator for $100.
|
LOL!!! Best post ever.
250 for both cats and res at my local shop so maybe 125? Welds are clean too, so it wasn't a hack job. You'll enjoy the sound. Mine is a bit raspy without res but I enjoy the volume level of it so its worth it. |
Pretty sure Im on track here. Little louder, still got the angry rasp, no drone.
Lord knows I have been looking at it forever. Sound being one of the best things about this car I have always been a little leery of messing with it. But Im bored :) |

I paid $80 in Houston to get my secondary cats cut out. In and out in 30 minutes!

WHOA. Thats CHEAP. That was for replacing with pipe or just cutting em out and letting you roam the streets?
|
Use stainless if you don't want it to rust, but I don't think a lot of shops keep that on hand.
|
Use Stainless Steel as the member above mentioned. All higher end muffler shops will carry it.
I paid $300 CAD for my Secondary cat / Reso delete and straight piped in stainless here in Toronto. |
160$cdn here in quebec for 2nd cats delete!
So it is about 25$usd hahahahahah |

THAT is why we do NOT want a wall, lol.

I paid $40 because I know the owner. That being said, I think they'd charge a regular customer $100.
30 mins sounds right, too. |

I paid $100 in NYC and it was same price for resonator and 2nd cats or just one. I opted for 2nd cat removal only but wish I did both....
