Things that you never got for your '63

So just a simple discussion to break away from [else].

Is there anything that you guys ever wanted for the c63 but they didn't make?

I know one thing that everyone wanted but never got was non carbon fiber aftermarket diffusers and lips. The few that were out were rather 'lack luster.'

What else?

Manual transmission or an auto that will shift as soon as I hit the paddle

This. A manual transmission with this engine would be epic!

Agreed. Cuz i can definitely speed shift a manual faster and more accurately than this transmission shifts

Adi-Benz 11-29-2016 08:56 PM

best answer immediately*

lol.

Pretty sure the 2008 c300's had a few manual models.

Well, I get that we would all like a manual trans, but your statement is just 100% wrong. Paddle shift times are much faster and more consistent than you could ever possibly do as a human on a manual trans. It's about twice as fast if not more. Period. There's no argument about it because it's a fact.

Your transmission must be better than mine because mine will climb another 500 rpm minimum (closer to 800 rpm on the 1-2 shift) before shifting after hitting the paddle. That absolutely does not happen in a manual.

Lol, in my old cobra, i could shift without lifting the throttle off the floor and the rpm wouldn't move 200 rpm

So to your point, during the actual shifting, no I am not faster but I am including the total time from actual activating the paddle to the time the car actually goes into the next gear. That I am faster at in a manual car.

I would have liked a wider rear end with wider wheels from the factory. That would have given us much better wheel/tire options.

agreed, these cars could use a 305 tucked under the rear fenders

A proper Dual Clutch Trans would be epic in this car.

The Weistec TCU/VB upgrade with the higher capacity trans pan gets you pretty damn close. My shifts BANG.

Adi-Benz 11-30-2016 10:54 AM

Lolol @ some of the comments!

Now, here is where I show my lack of knowledge BUT:

Could you not potentially buy a c300 with a manual trans and just swap the trans? Pricey put could be well worth it; or would this not work due to the engine?

:S

Also I've heard of AMG's getting like 26, it's probably possible....
My highway mpg is rated at 26mpg and if I'm not going 100 I can get nearly 30. :S

Prius maxing out on track MPG < BMW M3 following it MPG
Idk if you guys ever watched that Top Gear Episode.

//side note Grand Tour is awesome

Same story for a PFL though?

An M156 getting 26 mpg?! :rolf: Is that downhill drafting off of a semi? This AMG can't get 26. Not even according to the optomistic instrument cluster.

And I'd be willing to bet that an M156 would just shred a manual designed for a non-AMG engine.

I came from a 2009 C300 w/ a 6 speed manual. That transmission was fantastic. One of the easiest clutches I've ever used as well.

I doubt it would mount up to the M156 engine though. Even if it did I don't think it would hold up for very long. Those C300s push about ~228hp stock. Big difference compared to a C63 :naughty:

Adi-Benz 11-30-2016 03:15 PM

That's what I was thinking but I figured I might as well put that out there lol.

And yes I read someone get 26 on a post but it was a while ago, not gonna go digging for it since its not a big deal.
