Okay, wait a minute. Why the hell are you trying to go to MB for repairs if you have no warranty? Not only are they gonna rape you in labor per hour charges but their techs are no better than an indie shop that specializes in Mercs. Hell, I trust my indie mechanic 100x more than I would trust a mechanic from MB. I see those kids in the back of the shop, fresh outta school and sh*t. No thank you, unless my work is free through my warranty I will have an experienced mechanic look into it.

Not arguing, I use an independent too. But MB techs - especially the Master Techs - are without question some of the best, if not THE best, in the business. The guys they have working on AMG cars are no joke. They ain't the kids hanging out in the back of the shop.

Haven't had to repair my car yet, so I didn't know they had a different crew for the AMG's. When I went (looking to buy my C63) I saw kids in the shop (20's or so) and I wasn't too impressed with them at face value.

The mb dealership I go to has specific guys that are only allowed to work on Amg's. I met them they arnt kids and extremely knowledgeable. I would assume it's the same elsewhere.

I guess it depends on the dealer I took my c63 with renntech mods to the dealer for cold start rattling and they new it was modded and did over the whole top end.

changed both tensioners and all new valve springs or what ever it's called.it was a major job and they had the car for over a month.

it definitely depends on the dealer as mine was is a renntech authorised dealer and will install renntech tunes and parts on your car.

I remember the Master tech coming back from a ride in my e55 and he was like how much ****ing boost is that blower running it was screaming with whine lol
took my highly modified e55 to get work done and they did 16k in warranty and got a new transmission sent from Germany also.they had the car for 2 months and gave me a brand new glk loaner with 5 miles on it.

Living in an area where the closest indie workshop is 150km/93 miles away and the towing cost alone is $500-600 to get the car there.

I think you are referring to the "Express Shop," where they perform the simpler tasks like patching a tire, oil change, tire changes, etc. Those are where the Mercedes techs start out which are usually straight out of school and young kids....
