Buying advice: What to expect @ 50k miles ?
Hi all, been lurking on this awesome forum for a bit. I'm considering purchasing a 2012 c63 Coupe with P30 package. It has 50k miles on it. What issues should I look for? Any major problems, services, coming up around this mileage?
thanks!
thanks!

You may have been lurking, but you've clearly failed reading comprehension.

Let me refer you to the stickies at the top of the page.. That being said there should be nothing wrong with a 2012 with 50k miles, there is a service scheduled every year or 10k mile so you will be looking at a 50k service. Try googling service requirements for a C63 and it will tell you exactly what is required. Please use the search tool at the top of the page.. if you do not at least try... you will not be received very well.

Guess you didn't lurk very well. Otherwise you would know there IS something wrong with it. People like you come in every 3 days asking to be spoonfed answers to the same questions that are easily referenced in the stickies.

There are a couple of people here that could be good contributors but instead have nothing better to do than lurk and feel the need to post in every thread, usually with a childish and smarta$$ remarks. It's a shame because most "car guys" I have met over the years are congenial and naturally helpful people. That being said there are several great members that don't just play internet tough guy. Utlizing the search will however help you find common issues to look out for.
I sold my G8 GXP after 6 years of ownership, for a used C63. My mileage was around 39K on the C and the big thing I looked for was the maintenance history. The pre-facelift (pre-2012) cars were notorious for headbolt issues, but overall this is a solid little car. Look at the service history, which can be requested from a MB dealership, and pay to have a reputable place perform a pre-purchase inspection. I did this and they found several small things that were nice to know, and one larger issue of a leaking motor mount.
Good luck!

And has anybody seen the stuff that BLKROKT does? He just posted about adjustable sway bar endlinks. He contributes a good deal. The people that get mad have more important things to do than answer "should I buy this car?" or "what is the best tune?" 500 times.

It's exactly these types of threads that clutter the forum and make it harder for people to find the information we contribute, like my Intake Manifold Gasket DIY and my car detailing thread. That's why we get upset.

I agree that people should search, however I also think tact and being a decent human being should be at the top of the priority list. I've owned fun cars my entire life, but as I've gotten older, they have become more broad than single purposed. This redundancy happens in every forum but welcoming people in a tactful way is what keeps car communities and forums alive and well. I have more to do than to follow every post just to make a wise crack.

OP-
Since you're considering a FL car, no worries on head bolts - which is the main concern with the PFL cars.
These cars are fairly stout as long as the previous owner(s) kept up with maintenance intervals.
Just do your due diligence and you'll be fine. I love this car more and more every time I drive her! Just an overall perfect car.

Failing at something you're bad at is how you learn how not to be bad at it.
If nobody points it out, you'll never know you're bad at it so you can learn how to improve...

Just wanted to pop in to apologize I didn't mean to ruffle feathers.
I searched on this but forgive the whipping boy if he asks anyway: If the car (2012) has P30 package, does that definitely include LSD? I do not see any code 471 on VIN data card.

No. For a USA car it was a separate $2K option.

Hang in there ninjaneur, you seem to be a good sport about it all. The 40k service should have already been done (might check that out), 60k service will be coming up soon. See how much, if any warranty is left. Have a Merc dealership do a CPO inspection on the vehicle (helps with peace of mind). Do normal inspections, body, paint, tires, interior, leather, windshield. Besides that, become friends with the local gas stations.
