If you want a real simulator, check out Forza 6.
(And Forza 7 later this year, which will be 4K)

I'm aware I'm talking to a guy with more real life track time than the majority of us all put together, but this is as close as I can get for now

Agreed on this. As close to grand tourismo or forza as you can get on your phone. CSR is okay but it does get repetitive.
