Help! Time for new tires... Calling all wheel/tire experts

Heard a funny noise today while driving and when i peaked under the car i noticed both rear tires are shot... So now i'm in the market for two new rear tires. Only problem here is the size tires i have now are rather strange...

Here are the specs of my wheels w/ tires:

20x8.5 ET40 w/ 245/30/20
20x10 ET50 w/ 285/25/20

I'm currently lowered on H&R springs, is there any other tire size i can run other than what's listed?

That looks close to your only choices. Maybe 255 on the front or 275 on the back. What other sizes are you considering?

Was trying to see if I could fit a 255/30 in the front and 295/25 in the rear.

I'm surprised you got a 285-20 to fit. You're not going to get that lucky with a 295 unless you roll the fender, but the tire height also isn't working in your favor here.

Right now your tire height is 25.8/25.6. A 255/30 in front just makes that worse at 26/25.6.

Use these charts to play around. My guess is that you need to keep the overall tire height under 26" to not rub. Not many choices unfortunately.

EDIT: Sorry forgot the chart - https://tiresize.com/height-chart/

Yeah I just looked again and 285/25 fits nice and snug with 295 I'll rub for sure. Guess I'll stick to the original specs just sucks because not a lot of choices... thanks guys!

I leave the size question to the experts, however when it comes to compound and tires themselves I'm very knowledgeable.

I recommend Michelin pilot sport 4S. I have them on my 507 coupe and it feels as if they were made for my car. The Best tires I've had on a road car.

Problem is they don't offer that in my size

What tire is on the rear now? Keep in mind, another brand/make won't have exactly the same profile so you could rub with something else in the same size.

Square shoulder tire with a section width of 11.6", tread width of 10.5" and OD of 25.6"

Out of your options, I'd just repurchase the MPSS. TR has them on sale and in stock, snap em up!

What are your guys thoughts on the Toyo T1R? Only reason why I ask is because my front two tires (Michelin PSS) are pretty much brand new. Since we have a tire wear issue with the c63 should I just buy a decently priced tires for the rear?

Keep the tires matched. Don't cheap out on tires of these cars, especially rear ones.

I thought the front ones were the important ones... Michelin PSS it is!

The important part is don't mix, completely different handling characteristics front to rear can be a bit exciting and although not cheap, the PSS is the way to go at least until the PS4 comes in more sizes!

C63 + sticky Michelin PSS not = "decent mileage" !!

But apparently C63 + sticky Michelin PSS = great tire performance

You've made a voluntary choice.

I think he meant wear mileage which is like 15k on PSS's.

If he is hoping it improves his cars mileage, he definitely bought the wrong car

Oh that's not bad, I was thinking more along the lines of only 4-5k miles. When I bought the wheels they came with the tires. Fronts were brand new and rears had about 50-60% tread life

Well depends on your right foot mostly, but I have about 50% life left on my 335i PSS's on the rear with 10k miles on them, it is a 400 HP at the wheels car with about 450 ft/lbs, not quite as hard on tires as the C63 but not the easiest on them either.

Warrant is 30k miles if you rotate which you can't so 15k if you can rotate them, so they claim they will last 15k on the back - wonder if anyone has got anything out of them for less wear?

Oh I know he meant tread wear mileage, not fuel mileage. But, I think, after reading hundreds of posts in my tour of the past postings, that 15k miles on the PSSs might be a stretch unless he drives as conservatively as I do.

Depending on where you get them in the US you will get warranty for less than 15000m. Check with the retailers policy for handling claims.

I had Nitto NT05 installed last week.
My first time on ET Streets.
They hook, for real.
The car accelerates as hard as you get on the gas.

The C63 should have come with 315's.
A stickier tire makes up for the narrow shortfall.

Edit: Can't say how long they'll last. Its like asking a row how long they take to drink a beer.

Right now, I bought new wheels front 19x9 and 19x10 rear and I'm lowered with HnR coilovers. Am I able to use front 245/35/19 and rear 265/30/19? or should I use rear 275/30/19? Will I rub on the rear?
