2014 C63 Stalls switching from Sport back to Comfort mode.
Hi All,
New to me 2014 c63 will stall or dip RPMs and nearly stall when stopped and switching transmission from sport back to comfort mode. i assume it is because the car is shifting up from 1st (in sport) to 2nd gear (in comfort) , any advice or just avoiding doing this at a complete stop?

But sometimes I put it into S+ from a high RPM and then it just rolls up through the gears and I can't pull anymore. So I stopped doing that. I only use C and M now. I exit my garage in C because it's way nicer to drive out in second gear. If I drive out in any mode other than C then the car sometimes downshift from 2 to 1 and the rev match scares the crap out of me and anyone who happens to be around.

My problem was just due to user error because I used it incorrectly I think. I basically always drive on M and the only times I put it into S+ was to do full throttle pulls because I was still learning the shift timing and didn't want to bounce off the limiter.
But sometimes I put it into S+ from a high RPM and then it just rolls up through the gears and I can't pull anymore. So I stopped doing that. I only use C and M now. I exit my garage in C because it's way nicer to drive out in second gear. To keep you from doing dumb stuff including things that might bust the car and perhaps void warranty.
Put it in the john and read 10 pages of the critical stuff each time you take a dump.
Less tha two weeks and you will be fine.
If I had $100 for every time I have directed guys to specific pages in manuals of the 11 cars I have owned over the years my supply of Single Malts would be so much better.

i as well had this happen to me just a few days ago. Are you getting any issues with your idle bouncing even a little maybe not all the time? I have found that my intake manifold gasket is shot. I'm thinking that is the culprit. But for me the stall thing only happened one time. It's an easy check though. Spray some brake cleaner where the intake manifold meets the motor. If there is any change in the idle you know it's leaking. My car almost died when I did that.

Hey, I'm having this same problem and today my car stalled two or three times in a row when switching modes. I grabbed my phone and tried to record it, but couldn't. I did managed to film the RPM bouncing pretty hard when switching from S/S+ to C, it stalled right when switching back to C and then the gear was switched from 1st to 2nd. Check the video below.
The car always was a big tough when switching modes, but lately I have noticed more problems. Yesterday when going off the line in C the car seems to stutter a bit too when it got moving and it definitely felt off.
Could any of this have to do something with the exhaust? Because last Wednesday I took my car back to the muffler shop where I had 2ndary cats deleted, but because the exhaust tips were touching the diffuser I took it back and had them fix it. Now the tips look good, but there seems to be a difference in sound as well? (not so loud as before)

Okay, I got it on camera. Was driving in S+ mode, reversed into my parking spot, put the car back to D and then when I switched from S+ to S and then to C the engine stalled. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? You can also hear some very weird clicks during the 18 second marker, seemed to be coming from the gearbox. The earliest time I got at the dealer is on the 1st of August...

Switching modes while driving is fine if its C, S or S+ but the manual says dont switch to M while the car is moving.
The car stalling or cutting out is not normal though.

I never knew this was specified in the manual and as a result, I've always flicked driving modes whenever I've needed to - multiple times during a drive while moving....has this been proven to lead to ill-effects on the transmission?

That's crazy that it shut off! I can understand why the RPMs bog or jump when switching from 1 to 2 or vice versa... But to shut off like that... My car's bogged once or twice when switching from S or S+ back to C, but mainly I just feel a thump and very slight RPM dip

rev matching, updated tcu software??? I will make a video real quick will edit my post.
edit: here is a quick vid, the rpm needle barely moves and there is a faint jerk when changing modes. Not as pronounced in the other video posted. Sorry for the low volume. I guess you can say the rpm does change but barely.

I will sometimes accidentally hit the paddle and jump from C/S+ to M operation. I have to pull over, go to P and reset.
Also, anyone have an issue going from R to C/S/S+? It's like shifting a boat motor into drive--there's a hesitation before the gear engages. Sometime it's long enough that I have added power before it's in, resulting in a jolt.
Now, I'm aware of it, I'll just patiently wait till I feel it engage.
