Code P0455 But No CEL??
 

I need some help guys.

So couple days ago I decided to plug my car just to check if there was anything wrong with it.

I plugged it in and realized that there is a pending

code p0455
Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)

I got worried but there is no CEL.

Dropped my car off at dealership and they told me it was just the gas cap.
My gas cap rope snapped off and is no longer tied to the car, but it was closed tightly so I didn't believe them.

Code is still there and they can't diagnose the problem.

Car runs fine, no CEL but code is still there.

I have headers, mids and catback with OE tune.

Has anyone cleared the non current fault.


FYI: the so called rope has nothing to do with the fault!

It will clear on its own after some cycles I believe.

yeah the dealership said they cleared it but when i got home and checked it myself it was still there. So either they cleared it and came back or didn't clear it.

I always hear people talk about drive cycles. How long/how many miles is 1 drive cycle for the w204 c63?

The dealer told me to go drive it for 20minutes and it'll be okay but never works. I asked them about drive cycle too but they said just drive for 20minutes and its good. I feel like the technicians at the dealerships don't know what theyre talking about.

I was told by my mechanic the drive cycle is different for all cars, I don't know if its true or not.
I had to drive my c63 for about 100 miles before my drive cycle cleared.
My friend drove his for 50-70 miles and it cleared for him.
