What does everyone think about this 3rd party warranty coverage? Feedback appericated
Hello, Everyone!
Looking to purchase a 2012 c63 amg and it has warranty until 2022 or 100,000 miles. I was looking to get others opinions on this warranty plan. Would you be able to let me know what you think about this, is it a good warranty coverage?
Thank you so much!
The link to see what it covers and what it doesn't cover is ---

Just go to "choose your coverage" at the top of the page and click on "ultimate" and it will show you what is listed under "ultimate" warranty.

Warranty and insurance is always -EV. You are almost always better off dropping that monthly insurance/warranty $$ into a savings account, and save up for your own "fund".
And thats only half the story.
Good luck getting a third party warranty company to pay out your claims. Theyre literally in the business of finding excuses/reasons to deny claims.

Looks like a scam no reviews but a bunch of employees and everyone else says they get denied and scammed lol.
Just look at that website.... sometimes all you need is a little common sense instead of making a new thread or google.

In theory, the coverage looks OK, but you need to ask 2 things:
1) what cost is included in your purchase price for that warranty (there's some I'm almost positive) and can it be deducted if you decline?
2) What are the per claim limits - this is where most of them become of limited value. Some have very low per claim amounts ($2K or $3K) which could still leave you holding the bag for any major catastrophic repair.

Never been a big fan of aftermarket warranties. They often have deductibles on claims and claim limits as mentioned above. They also do not cover everything. I.E. read the fine print.

OP sent me a copy of the warranty and the list of excluded items was broad..
Here are just a few of the items not covered:
1. Breakdown caused by overheating "for any reason"
2. Breakdown caused by engine wear
3. Does not cover "exotic" vehicles .. is a 500hp Mercedes considered exotic ?? Depends on the definition used.
Attached is a copy of the warranty he sent me have a look for yourself.
Basically I told the OP that this warranty is worthless and I wouldn't use it for toilet paper. OP is a nice guy who is a 21/22 year old college kid, with a smoking hot girlfriend, who works as a bank teller. I don't blame him for thinking he can grab the world by the horns and wrap it around and stick it in his pocket. I've told him numerous times that he has no business buying a 35-40k car at his age and no real job. OP believes that as soon as he graduates he will get a 100k a year job because he knows the bank president.. I told him the real world doesn't work that way.. but he persists.. so I wish him well..

So here is the deal, I have a 3rd party and just filed my first claim. Short story - they covered the repairs (about $1500) or so. Now, I would be lying if I didn't say I was worried. Also, it depends on your relationship with your SA. My SA and I have a good history, he is on my side. Additionally, the warranty only covered 95/hr for time on repairs and Merc charges 150/hr, my SA scrubbed the difference, you might not get the same treatment. If you are purchasing this car with the assumption that the 3rd party will give you the same piece of mind as a factory warranty, you are quite mistaken.
I will also tell you this, in the case of a catastrophic failure there is almost no chance that they will cover any of it.
No one can make the decision for you. You need to really evaluate if you can afford a car like this on your in come. It's that simple.

Filed 2 claims 2 weeks apart. Fidelity warranty company. Paid no problems 100 percent. 1850 buck repair for driveshaft. 600 buck repair for intake gasket. It is def a Toss up as far as whether they will pay or deny. Haven't had any issues. Every company is different. Mine seems to be good.

Some aftermarket warranty companies can be good.. OP's is definitely not !!

Ok so I live in Canada so my comments are based on what I have experienced.
First my dealer sells a couple of different plans and contrary to what one owner we see on this site who deals in the same shop he does not have their best plan according to the management at this dealer.
Because my car was still in factory warranty I did not have to have a pre-insurance inspection but if it was out of warranty they would have had to do one at about $500 cost to me.
The premium to take my car from from 2017 to 2021 and to 120000 km was in the order of $4200 before a customer loyalty discount that brought it in a $3500.
My first claim was for R&R of the AC evaporator and new refrigerant. The bill of parts and labour were $2000. My decducible is $250 but whereas the dealer did the work it was $200. So in essence my first claim that went through before I got to pay my portion of the bill was sufficient savings to cover 51% of the premium.
I plan to keep this car for a while so about the only thing I am not covered for is brake rotors and pads, routine maintenance and windshield wipers It is important to keep in mind that labour is nit cheap and parts cost like gold for these cars and getting to $3500 is not going to take much if there is another catastrophic failure. Also one of the most expensive things to replace is electronics and my plan option covers them as well.
I think the whole idea of a kitty for repairs is not good advice unless of course you can build up a slush fund of $10000+ against a rainy day. The way I look at it is at the outset it cost $73/mo when I amortized the premium over the 4 yrs. Now it is down to $36/mo until something seriously costly breaks and there is another $2000 bill at which point I am at break even when it comes to major failures.
Go speak to a reputable dealer and see what they offer.
