I would be interesting on information about the rear wing. Is it removable?

Yes, its mounted to the bottom of the trunk. You can Remove it anytime with only 10 Bolts.

whats that about? How'd you make it fit and is it controlling the brakes or the e brakes. I've always wanted one in a c63

It's fitted to the transmission tunnel and it's controlling the brake with a sensor. Next week I get my car back and then I can take some pictures to show you how its done.

I am running 10w60 castrol TSW Oil at the moment. Use it over 7.000 miles now. Every trackday I fill in new Oil and get rid of the old used Oil. It's not expensive and I feel better. You dont have to change the filter. It'S good for at least 3-4 Oil changes if you switch Oil every 600km. But you have to know that I am driving my car mostly (95%) on track and you can believe me I drive the sh*t out of it .

So far no problems with the car.

I have no idea but I dont think that there was a no sunroof option available in Europe. Like I said I think they used a carbon fibre plate to close the hole of the missing sunroof. I've never looked at it closely because my rollover cage is in the way.. I will take you a picture as soon as I get the car back at Mugello Circuit next week to show how it looks like. I was running the Oil for a few thousand miles but now I switched to Castrol 10W60

There was a no sunroof option for the Black series coupe for the Japan market too, a forum member has the car.
Also it doesn't look like the roof is carbon, maybe I have it wrong though.

The importance is that there are parts that weight savings guys can buy, both for the roof panel as well as the ceiling lining and the blank out for the sunroof switch in the overhead panel.

Deleting options is big in car communities for weight savings, but the most desirable is retrofitting a factory delete.
The factory deletes can be expensive too.
But one can buy them used.

I try to do everything as affordable as possible. The car is not worth spending thousands of Euros in Carbonfibre parts. You just have to remove the things you are driving aroung which makes no sense. I removed the GPS, Commandsystem, Airconditioning, sunroof, interior parts, parts of the wiring, seats. I have installed macrolone windows now on driver and passenger side and refreshed my suspension with a new damper/spring setup for the rear axle.

During the wintertime I will install headers and adjust the software. I will install the HMS widebody rear fenders too to get more grip on the rear axle with wider tyres. More mechanical grip is a must have for me now

So for Europe, the front fenders don't have the rectangular position lights, I didn't realize this.

I can't tell from the pictures, but have you cut a rectangular hole in the center of your front bumper cover in order to get more air flow to the transmission cooler? I like it. Did you also cut the bumper support behind the cover? (MBNRG - another possible solution)

Awesome Joe, thanks for confirming. Was the hole there effective in lowering transmission temps? Did you happen to take before/after readings? I'd be happy to cut another hole in my bumper if it works. I also have the 44O cooling kit, so was considering moving the trans cooler down to the bottom of the radiator where the oil cooler used to be (is now lying flat). But if your hole works, that's even easier. Thanks

Hey! No problem. Unfortunately the benefit was not as much as I thought it would be but at least it helped a littlebit If you can get around cutting your bumper I would suggest to avoid it Do your track your car aswell?

Car looks great Joe What size are those quad exhaust tips, 82mm? I’m reworking my exhaust and was thinking of quad 4” DTM tips, but I like how yours look.

I’d swap in new O2 sensors first and see if that does it. Did you pull the codes yet?

I have been reading your thread and looking at it as a very reference for C63 tracking. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I always have trouble with my brakes, using both the original 1 piece or 2 piece 360mm OEM. I was looking at the racingbrake upgrade to 390mm but this also means going from 18" to 19" wheels, i want to keep 18".

Can you please share more about your brake setting? :
Front SLS GT3 Brake Brembo Racing 380/36 Disc --> where did you source that? did you keep the original caliper? how much does it cost to buy the set and how much to replace the disks? do you mind sharing some photos?

Hey Joe,

What a fantastic post! Perfect timing for me as I am also just starting to prep a car purely for track work.

Mine is a 2008 W204 and so far I've only upgraded the Diff to a Drexler LSD, fitted KW Coilovers, added the Eurocharged V7 Tune, installed Supersprint Headers and Catless Downpipes and a Weistec Transmission Pan.

The next lot of modifications is to install a secondary Transmission Oil Cooler and Pump in the rear defuser and later a Diff Cooler.

I will be removing the primary Transmission Cooler Fan (as it restricts airflow at high speed), remove the two driving/fog lights and use the location for the Brake Duct Intakes.

At the moment I'm running 18 x 9.5" ET 52 rims fitted with 265/35/18 Hankook Z221 Semi Slicks both front/ rear and also have another set fitted with Yokohama AO 50's and stock brakes with EBC Yellow Stuff Pads.
I have a set of 390mm and 340mm (rear) two-piece rotors which I'd like to fit but unfortunately would have to change to 19" wheels and also find a set of brake caliper offset brackets.

I currently run a W208 CLK55 on the track and learned a long time ago that if you haven't got the handling set up wright, horse power will get you absolutely nowhere and thats why I'm going to take this build very slowly.

I'm only competing in general Club Racing and Supersprints etc and therefore I won't be stripping the weight from the car for at least the next month or two and all going well I should have the Rollcage installed before the first major race meeting in late January.

Here in Australia we have just finished our Club Racing competition for the year and as the weather is heating up it will be a good time get in some "Test & Tune" days at the track and hopefully iron out the heating problems our cars suffer.

I look forward to discussing our progress in the near future and I'm sure you already realise as I have, you only have to ask and you will definitely get assistance from the Forum.

ello guys,

now finally the season has started again.
Here the first onboard of this year. Driving very soft just to check out how the car works. Big wing was mounted but really not necessary at that track. Missing aroung 15mph on the straights to achieve a nice laptime but in the end the car worked out great and I am very happy with it!

Full throttle to red in each gear passing a bmw on the inside after corner exit is driving it very soft huh?

I hope your fake taxi's rear tow hook doesn't catch on fire from the tail pipe.

I could have been later on the brake and earlier on the throttle

I still have cats so I dont think it will catch fire :P
