Transmission fluif choice

Does anyone know whether the facelift c63 with the MCT Speedshift transmission requires the red 236.14 spec fluid or the blue 236.15?

To be absolutely sure, you should know your specific transmission part number and sequence number. If you post your VIN, I can give you that data. Once you know that go here:

https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/231.1_en.html, and look in the "Passenger car and cross-country vehicle sheets 236.1 to 236.81 table 1" area.

Alternately, you can wait for someone here to chime in.

Any information regarding how many litres / quarts of fluid is required?

The ECS tuning transmission service kit includes 9 one litre bottles, but I'm suspecting it's too much

On the last change dealer used 9.7 l that's with flushing the TC (transmission converter) fluid too. My gearbox is the same as yours and use exactly the same parts (only yours is reinforced for the extra 100 NM torque).

I've attached your datacard, which confirms that you need .15 spec fluids.

That is the correct amount, which would include the tranny and cooler up under the front bumper.

Thanks! Will be handy soon. Any tips from people who have flushed their own tranny? Recommended DIY or take to shop? I quite enjoy working on my car.

Here's a link to the post I made regarding the items I built to do the filling and temp checking. It's not the easiest job ever and would be much easier with a full lift.

Joe
