Want to lower 507 sedan

Interested in lowering my 507 sedan.
Considering H@R springs but realize they are progressive rate which I am generally not a fan of. Are the OEM springs progressive rate?

Also looks like the car needs spacers. If I go with 10MM all around I figure I would need hubcentric spacers which I do not believe come in 10MM (not big enough for hubcentric lip??)

Did a search, but did not come up with a definitive answer. I did see many folks complaining about pulling to the right after spring drop. Perhaps someone has figured this out??

Thanks for your time.:)

I won't be much help other than to confirm 10mm spacers DO have hubcentric rings. They're the thinnest diameter to come with them.

Good luck in the rest of your research.

That is a big help. Would you suggest 10mm all around? I have seen others with a larger spacers up front, which does not make sense to me because the front track is already wider than the rear.

Are yours stock H@R spacers, or custom made?

If you are looking for coilovers I have a fortune set I would let go of.

Just interested in a simple spring drop. (if there is such a thing):)
Thanks for the offer though.

On my sedan I am running H&R springs, spacers 15mm up front and 12mm on the rear. No rub and I think it looks perfect. Did have 12 up front too but wanted a little bit better stance.

I did have pulling to the right after install. Took it to MB and they used the 'crash bolts' to get in in spec.

Price? Then I can sell him my H&R if he decides to go that route.

you'll normally need coilovers before you'd be able to find an off the shelf linear springs.

even KW coilovers are mostly progressive until you get into ClubSports

H&R springs ride great and the car looks spot on, not too low. If you want to race/track the car put some coil overs on it.

I don't know how much shipping would be because of weight but $1000+ ship, upgraded front springs and rear struts

Question:
Why would you put 15mm spacers up front and 12 in the rear instead of 12mmF, 12mmR? Reason being that the front track in stock form is already wider than the rear. It might look like an Isetta :)

Here is my car with the following:

H&R Coilovers running on lowest setting up front. No perch in rear.

It does look great, just don't understand why one would want to increase the front track another 3mm from OEM over the rear.

If you stand in front of the car and look straight down the side the front axle is already wider than the rear in stock form. Adding another 3mm in front to that does not make sense, unless there is some benefit. I believe it was originally done by Mercedes to better the handling.

Did you also need to use the "crash bolts" to stop pulling to the right?

Adam Chambers 08-31-2017 09:45 AM

Because it fills the wheel wells and looks better. thats my only reason.

Increasing the track up front fills out the fender. Car is sitting flush all around. Why would you want a more sunken look? You've got the wide fenders up front... fill em out !
