2012+ C63 sedan How well does the value hold up these days?
Considering the 2012+ C63, just wondering how the values have been holding up for you guys? I know how much MB tank and I'm prepared for that. Just wondering how much the car loses on average per year now that the W205 is out.
I plan to keep it 3 years and sell. That is unless I get the mod bug :naughty: Trying to narrow down my next purchase. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers gentlemen. |
Don't buy an AMG for resale value. Buy it to enjoy.
Edit: unless black series. They are the only ones holding any value. |
Thanks Adam, I do not choose mb for resale value. Just wondering what some others have experienced or about how much depreciation per year this particular model gets.
Basically, about what can I expect is all. |
Depending on options, expect resale to be in the mid 20's in 3 years while waiting for a couple of months to try and sale it

I just read somewhere that car values are depreciating faster than ever.

2012+ are going to hit depreciation harder. I bought a 14 with 17k miles about a year ago for $48K, im scared to look at the value now.

I've been trying to sell mine since June. It's the cheapest 2013 you can find on here with my mileage and options (fully loaded). I imagine I'm going to have to take another few grand off to sell it to a dealership.

Right now W204 c63's aren't holding their value well @ all. I bought mine a year ago 2013 p31 with like every option and very unique interior CPO from a dealer with 50k miles for under 42. This time last year that was much below KBB so I was pumped about getting a great deal. Now I know KBB isn't the end all but at least it's a good reference point. Now a year later (again according to KBB) it's only worth like 35kish. For some reason w204s seem to not keeping their value very well. I personally think they will (at some point) regain and go up in value since they are the last NA v8 which a lot of purists prefer and really the only engine developed and built entirely by AMG put in a regular AMG.

If you trade in a car to a dealer (doesn't have to be a brand franchised dealer) towards the purchase of another car (doesn't have to be a new car, can be another used car), then you get a sales tax credit against the value of your trade.

$45.5k CAD, so under $38,000 USD. For a 2013 with every option or nearly every option; metallic white, Nappa leather, performance package, all driver assists, upgraded rear seating package, multimedia package, etc.

Really the car to get right now for what you get per dollar and for less depreciation is the pre-facelift w204 c63. The headbolt problem is exaggerated.
In 2-3 years facelift cars will be worth what pre-facelift are currently.... If you're lucky. |
I agree that the PFL car is killer bang for the buck right now. I've seen decent examples, not necessarily P30 etc., going for $25k. That's a lot of car for the money.

Price of gas is going to affect these and their resale value.
I think that the newer generation with turbos is direct injected too and gets much better gas mileage. Remember what happened last time around when gas prices maxed out, corvettes and suburbans were not selling. And this European generation was an in between. Power wars forced them to go all out with really high compression then dumping fuel in to prevent knock. So in the 2000 and such, high performance Europeans were a bit more normal in gas mileage, but then 2008+ you see 11 Mpg, M5 that do 8 MPG and so on. 2014 and up they all do 20 MPG. |

When I was researching my purchase a couple years back 10%/year was a good rough estimate for the C63. Sometimes cars will level off for a bit around years 6-8 then fall again.
