Hit up the real dyno...base header file results inside!

Did 3 runs tonight and my car is doing alot better now with straight pipes.

Trapped 120.74 and 119.xx on base shelf header file.

I'm waiting for time off to hit up the Dyno to get it tuned in more but there was another c63 there and was trapping 114 so I think I'm doing pretty good for new England dragway.

Sweet man! I can’t wait to take my car to the track for the first time later this month. I’ll report back!

Celicasaur 10-05-2017 04:49 AM

Nice work Scratch :y

Any chance of some Torque logs, say WOT in 3rd to redline? :o:

skratch77 10-05-2017 08:07 AM

Thanks guys ! On the torque app I never figured out how to do it because I use the obdlink hardware and dongle.

I will setup torque and get you some logs asap though because I'm also curious.

What do you want me to log?

Timing
Maf
Af
Load
RPM
?

nice what are your mods again? What octane fuel?

Row/pro drys
Fi headers
eBay 300 cell cats
Straight pipes to stock rest of exhaust.

I wish I ran without the cats because the second I had them installed I wanted to take them out as I could feel the car chocking from them after getting used to catless.

My next step is to get bigger exhaust to compensate for the added cats I put in.

My best run before headers was ,12.20 at 118.56 in better conditions

Da last night was 800

A guy in a new Corvette was chatting with me after he saw my run and thought I was supercharged.

He was trapping 115-116 and had cooks headers full exhaust and tune on his car and is way lighter than our cars.

AMGonFire 10-05-2017 08:54 AM

Nice 93 octane? Race gas?

skratch77 10-05-2017 08:59 AM

93 oct

I hope the other guy posts here with his car so we can see what his full mods were.

It's great to hit the track with other beasts and see how we do with our different setups.

He said he put down 480whp but ran sls plugs.i told him to use stock ones because that what oe told me and to not use them until blown.

He also had tcu tune

nice interested to see how you would do with race gas. Now you just need some radials. I don't believe that guy had 480 wheel. 114 trap is too low.

It was 70 degrees out and I didn't expect my car to run well as I've gone with better conditions and ran worse lol but some days our cars just run better.

Could be the 4 brand new O2 sensors but my car was running strong before the change.just did it for maintenance.

On race I will pick up 1.3mph I'm guessing and 2mph if the da is close to 0(last night was 750-850)

Anyone in GTA area want to go drag this weekend?

Going to a private rental in sparta next thursday.
A Few more spots if anyone local wants to attend.

computertom 10-05-2017 11:45 AM

Judging by the sixties, it looks like typical NED track prep (re: Crisco). Ina good day I hit 1.8's there, every other time just can't get out of the hole without spontastic waste of a run.

Oooooh...tbh a log is a log imo. If you have another tool that runs off a cable, that's actually much better than relying on the bluetooth Torque log as the data can be a bit hit n miss sometimes. As long as you can send me over a spreadsheet in csv/excel format, I'm good.

Ideally, I'd like to see:

Timing
MAF in g/s or lbs/min
AFR or Lambda
RPM
IAT
Throttle %

I'll PM you my email :y

Decent times and speeds there. Nice one.

Infiniti 10-09-2017 01:26 PM

glad to see the car is running better. at the real dyno i was able to turn 11.9 @118.5 in 1800 da humidity at 90% and bla bla.full interior and street tires. so i'm just patiently waiting.

skratch77 05-03-2018 12:14 PM

Hit the track last night unexpectedly but had alot of fun.

It was probably the worst conditions we could run in and I got the go ahead from the wife last min and headed up there on a full tank of 93 and base header file like the first post.

the only difference was not running race gas but now I have remus exh.

it was hot and my car was not liking it at all.coolant was seeing 201-202 and oil temps in the 240-242 range.was 90 out when I got there and a da of 1900+ basically the worst conditions you can run in and still ran low 12s and was trapping 118 all night with 1 pass at 119.

car was pulling 3 degrees timing from the logs and the most I saw was 22 up top.

did about 10 pulls and didnt blow the car up so I'm 100% confident in my base oetuning file now.

Ran a few modded m5s and kept up with one of them as they were all not running fast either. He was tapping 121 but down big time as he usually traps 130.

here is my best pass!

I didnt log them to get faster logs of the timing and air flow.

welcome to florida track weather 98% of the time./ I can run 11.8-12.0 all night in same conditions at 118.x

what did you use to see the car was pulling timing?

Tell me there is a new app!

Just using torque app on android and looking at the logs after a pass.

The car had a little more in her but I was 75% full of 93 oct. Like i said i was not planning to hit the track up so i couldn't run race gas.

One of two things happened....either:
  • IATs were above 30c and pulling 2-3 degrees
  • The lower octane fuel made the knock sensors ecu decide that 22 is a good place to be at
