Possible Fuel Filler Neck Issue?
About two weeks ago I filled up and when the pump 'clicked' I noticed a little bit of fuel came up and out of the filler neck....
Today I filled up the tank and when the 'click' happened, I looked down and there was gas leaking down the side of my car onto the cement. I did not have the nozzle all the way in so I'll pay close attention to that when I fill up in the next few days. I'm wondering if maybe there is an issue with my filler neck? Anybody ever have this issue? |
It's probably either the fill neck vent line that is faulty or a charcoal canister that is filled with gasoline.

Shouldn't a failed charcoal canister throw a code? |
It should.
One thing to check is make sure the "spiral" is attached on the end of the gas pump nozzle. Many of these are either broken off or missing and cause overfilling/jamming issues when filling up. |
This happened to me the past 3 times I filled up at 2 different stations. Can't figure it out. I just listen for the tone to change as it gets close to full and stop it myself

I had this happen one time at one station, i figured it was a bad sensor in the gas pump or whatever. It just didn't stop pumping at all until I stopped it. Got a refund and free car wash out of it lol.
