63 in for Camshaft, Lifters & Adjusters Repair
Well the day has come that my 2009 C63 68K miles is in the shop for repair. I started it one morning and noticed a loud ticking or clicking sound. Being a long time lurker here on MB, I figured it was the camshafts/lifters/adjusters ordeal. Took it around the block and was still making noise, so I put her in the garage. Next chance I had, I decided to take it to my local Indy shop who is quite reputable. They confirmed it is the camshafts/lifters/adjusters.
When I purchased the vehicle I opted for the powertrain aftermarket warranty so I think it should be covered. They are sending out a guy from the warranty company tomorrow to review the sound and get final approval due to the threshold of the repair. Holding my breathe.... I'll keep you all updated and try to share photos as they're available.
Any other advice?

My car is literally in the shop right now for the same exact problem. Same year and around the same mileage. Luckily it was just a collapsed lifter they claim. Replacing all 16 on that one bank.

My car is at the dealer for camshaft adjuster noise on the right side and power steering whine. First inspector fidelity sent was a d*ck and wouldn't approve anything. He confirmed the noise from the head but said "they wont cover that. Its not leaking or has a code." Then he confirms the ps whine but says "its not leaking or low on fluid. They won't cover that." A**hole, u don't work directly for fidelity. Your a third party hired by fidelity to pass the info along and its not your job to pass judgement on whether or not fidelity will cover the repair. After I called and complained they sent a new inspector and he approved it. END RANT
Only had the warranty for 3 months and this one job will be more expensive then the warranty.

Update-
Well after 3 inspections of the car, Fidelity has approved all camshafts/lifters/adjusters.
First inspection- Car had been started prior to the inspectors arrival so reschedule to hear all noises on a true cold start
Second inspection- Approved but requested a tear down of the parts
Third inspection- Cleared and ready to repair the vehicle
This is a large weight off my shoulders. This job alone will cover and almost triple what I paid for the warranty.
Shall I rest easy putting on a Kleeman tune ?

How does one acquire said Fidelity warranty? I bought my ‘09 two months ago with 65,000 miles. Would it cover head bolts? I didn’t see it as an exclusion when I read their powertrain coverage. Cost?

As far as I know, Fidelity extended warranties are only offered through dealerships at the time of sale. I suspect the cost would be high for a car with a well know and expensive issue.

I got mine from Troy Dietrich at http://fd-warranty.com/index.html ......Apparently he sells a large amount of warranties which is why his prices are cheap
On a different note, the MB tech called me today and said after he replaced the camshaft adjuster with a new one, it was actually louder/noisier then the original one. I'm like WTF.....hes going to replace it again tomorrow
