C63 204 2013 ABS ESP PROBLEM.

Hi, have a 2013 C63 and have a problem with ABS / ESP.ABS inoperative see owners manual message on dash display.
Have an icarsoft i980 code reader that shows code 1425 The wheel speed signal was not received. Also code D40A no CAN message was received from control unit N47-5.
I am thinking it is a wheel speed sensor issue, but which one , front or rear left or right ?
Anyone got any ideas ?
Cheers Martin.

Can't say but there is sometimes a simple fix as the system goes AWOL.
Turn the key on but don't start the engine.
Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right and back all the way to the left and then centre it. Shut off the key and leave it for 10 minutes. Don't know if I have this exactly right but it has worked for many MB owners over the years. Doesn't cost anything to try.

I think turning the wheels from lock to lock with the car stationary is hard on the steering gear and tie rod ends. If you want to give Alex's solution a try then I would tape a couple of plastic shopping bags per side to the garage floor or driveway surface. Then drive the car onto the bags and turn it off. This will greatly reduce the friction between the tires and the ground surface, when you turn the wheels, and be easier on the car and you.

Way over the top Mort. The tires are cold and they will take minuscule wear doing this stationary than they would doing a hard left and hard right at 20 mph hot. Furthermore, the idea that this is hard on the tie rods ends and steering gear is just not on. Think of the stress on them when you hit a pot hole.
This is a slow smooth turn of the wheel no different that you do turning out of a parallel parking spot. It has been a practice used by me and thousands of MB owners going back to the day when they first installed ESP, Brake Assist and all the other electronic gadgets. I think my last W124 E Class of 1993 was the last car that did not have this feature and I have used it on all 9 of them since.
OP should just try it. No guarantee this is the issue but it is cheap, quick and easy to do and will not damage anything.

Hi guys, thanks for the ideas.
The actual message reads The vehicle speed signal was not received.
Think I have been barking up the wrong tree.
I think it could be a speed sensor in the TCM in the transmission but the code 1425 does not tell me which sensor.
I have changed all ABS sensors but still have the code, and ABS ESP inoperative on the dash.
May have to get it read with a proper star diagnosis before I take the transmission sump off and have to spend another fortune on transmission oil !
