Did I purchase a modified C63?
I just picked up my 13 about a week ago. I have ridden in and driven several c63’s before. This one has 285’s on the rear and some how in manual mode I am in some cases still losing traction in second gear. Seems like other c63’s I have driven before were not this powerful?

FYI I put on 275 Michellin PS4s today and nearly wrecked into a curb because I wasnt expecing that level of grip when having some tire shredding fun.
These tires are AMAZING

Nice to see you pulled the trigger on those bad boys! Very good tire for a 300 threadwear. Looking forward to see how long they last

A while back I bought a used set of wheels for the C63 that had a set of PSSs on them. The tires had plenty of tread left but must have gotten so hard from repeated heat-cycling (I put a couple of track days on them in addition to street driving by the previous owner and myself)) that on a couple of concrete side roads in the area I could barely get moving from a dead stop in comfort mode on a dry road without wheel slip, never mind trying accelerate somewhat rapidly. They would break traction in 3rd on the highway every time I stepped on it a little too aggressively. It's not a reflection on the PSS in any way - I've had many sets and they are extraordinary tires - only a comment as to a possible cause here because they achieved the consistency of hockey pucks well before I wore them out. Recent date codes, no cracks and plenty of tread left which I couldn't wear out because they were so hard.
The PS4Ss are indeed even better beasts... two sets so far (one on the C63 and another on the P-car) and I love them.

I hadn't realized there was a PSS replacement and I was just about to order tires. I should look into these some more. It sounds like they have a higher wear rating but having the same or better grip? How are they in the cold/rain? I find the pss to be quite good in the rain but don't seen to have much traction once it's below about 10C degrees.

It is a high performance summer tire, of course traction is bad below 10C, you are not even supposed to drive on them when temps are lower than 7C and they won't warranty them if they crack if you drive in cold weather.

P4S everyone says is just better than the PSS which was the best out there, reviews are great, people love it, wear is better (although anything on the back of a c63 is not going to last long).

They are still not ideal for temperatures under 50°F-60°F though.
