Replacing seat parts

Some of you may remember that the coating on my driver seat is starting to peel. I was looking at oe discount parts and see the bottom seat cushion being <$300 which is pretty reasonable. Is it possible to replace just that part of the seat without replacing anything else? Does anyone have any instructionals on this?

Please post photos, so that we all can see what your referring to. I personally would go to an upholsterer, and get an estimate of the repair costs.

Looks like the protective coating that the factory sprays on the seats is peeling off. If your car is no longer under warranty, I would then take it to an upholsterer and get an estimate before paying the dealership price.

Upholstery places quoted me $400+... a new seat is <$300. They said it's not something as simple as a spray on.

300 is pretty cheap for a new seat cover, not sure what upholstery place is talking about, but mercedes just top coats their leather, I have resprayed a section of my seat, pretty easy to do and has lasted very well so far on my side bolster - cost like 50 bucks for the materials to do it - I used this place to get the kit from. https://www.leatherworldtech.com/sho...asp?Check=True

Thanks, which one did you get? The shopping cart link you sent shows up empty for me.

Or if you want a pro to do it, call up a local Fibernew.

Thanks, did you have the same peeling issue as I do? If so did you spray the entire seat, or just the portion that's peeled off?
