Insurance question. Geico policy more than doubled with C63 added
My original premium $2340 for 3 cars(2015 Lexus RX350, 2015 Maserati Ghibli, 2003 Silverado 2500hd Duramax). Added 2014 C63 Coupe and premium now is $4812. Tried to call them to find out why and all they can say is car parts and replacement value are high. Anyone have experience this? Other better alternatives? I have AAA for all my rentals and personal home, so have to call or drop by local office for a quote. Forgot to add, me and wife have clean records, over 45, living in the SF Bay Area, and over 750 credit scores. Only 1 claim, friend borrowed truck and hit parked car, less than $2k claim but was on my policy.

I had a 2011 Audi S4 that I traded on my 13 C63 and my insurance actually went down, then traded to my 14 507 and basically no change - sounds way high - I am in Boston and pay about the same for 3 cars, 16 X5, 08 335i and the C63 - C63 is about 850-900 a year same coverage you have (X5 is the most expensive on the policy) I use Ameriprise through Costco.

Geez. I pay $776.69/6 months for my car. I think I get a slight discount for having my homeowner's and renter's insurance with them too.

I traded by 2010 S4 in on my 11 C63 and my insurance increased just slightly.

Wow wow! I feel bad for you guys. Is this for 6 months? Or a year. I pay 380 for 6 months for same coverage as op. Def shop around doesn’t cost you anything to look.

Yeah agree. I don’t know what kind of driving records you guys have. I pay less than $100 a month for full coverage in NYC. My coverage limits are fairly low, but so are my deductibles. I also drive under 5k mikes per year which may affect my premiums.

I thought it was just me. My gtr only ran me $134 a month with Nationwide and now I am paying $300. Of course that was garaged in “de” vs DC but still. Progressive quoted me $750 a month with a straight face.

Just me and the wife with 16 yr old with a learners permit. Only way I can bring the premium down to under $100-200 a month is to lower the coverage. So far Progressive and Ameriprise are the best prices.

He just have his learners permit so he doesn't count as a driver. It's weird, I've added a few 911 turbos and Gwagon in the past 7 years and insurance only went up maximum $100 per month. I use a high limit from a previous accident with the wife and pedestrian so not worth it for a few k extra.

Im also in the Bay Area. Was paying $3300/yr with AAA, 100,000-300,000 bodily injury. deductibles collision/comprehensive $1000 and OEM equipment. Out of curiosity I got a quote if the car was under my pops insurance but was $2800, not much difference. everyone else quoted me much moreat the time. Fast forward almost a couple years I’m now with progressive, paying $2200. Same bodily injury but deductibles are at $500. Both policies have vehicle at 5000 miles a year. Also I am now 25 with a squeaky clean record so that probably helped.
i have no idea how you guys are paying even $100-150 a month. That’s insane. Must be something wrong in the Bay Area.

CA has the most uninsured and underinsured drivers in the country, both in absolute terms and proportion. That’s why.
