Needed new wheels/tires for the track... searched the forums for what wheel and tire sizes work on my 2015 ‘507’... probably read 100s of threads on tire sizes, wheel sizes, offsets, spacers, alignments, etc... I decided to go with BBS wheels and Pirelli Trofeo Rs...
so the question to the gurus... Will they rub?...
245-265 Won't rub if the offset is correct, get the Porsche spec tires. Get them heat cycled from the Tire Rack. Although the tires are the best thing you can do to begin having a better handling car. You should do some suspension mods as well if it's in the budget. Coil overs/camber plates will help the tires achieve to their potential.
Also how many runs will you be doing in what climate and temp? Do you have a limited slip diff? I would do this first before the tires and get used to the way that drives before tracking it. Front and rear shock tower braces are also advised.
With over 20 track days so far with the ‘507’... probably over 200 track days in total driving a Porsche 968-M030, a full race setup BMW E46 M3, SL55 amg, Porsche air cooled 911, BMW 2002s and back in the day raced VW rabbits... I’m more than satisfied with the OE suspension on the ‘507’... it could always be faster and handle better but the C63 is a fun car at the track... not many oem production cars can hit 160mph on the back Stretch at VIR and drift over the roller coaster into hogs pen... or 171mph on the interstate dusting a Porsche Carrera S...
Not a question of budget... it’s a question of balance... it needs to be comfortable cruising the street and fun on the track... yes have option 471 - Mechanical Locking Diff... already have the wheels and tires mounted... always have all my tires heat cycled... so the question is will they rub?

Depends on the offset of the wheels. Also make sure that the wheels are forged. I don't know if those BBS are forged. The stock ones I believe are, you don't want to go aftermarket and downgrade the quality of the rim. But no it won't rub. I run those same sizes and tires on my car.
Agreed depends on the offsets... that’s why I included the screen prints... I mounted the wheel/tires on the car already... so I already know the answer... just asking the gurus... forged? The track has a smooth surface, no pot holes, no curbs, no tar lines... smoother than any public road.... track crews bush all dirt debris off the track every morning... as long as you can keep your car on the track... �� BBS wheels will work... I’m not racing the ‘507’... it’s a 3 day VIR Drivers club event July 27 - July 29... no instructors... pass anywhere on the track with a point by.. most days 3 or 4 run groups... I usually try to run 6 sessions a day...

I hate rolling fenders... did I mis-read something in all those threads?

Because your side to side forces are a lot more on a track then on the streets especially when using such sticky tires. You SHOULD get forged wheels. Or don't get them, I don't care. Apparently you know everything. Why ask us if you dismiss advice from a forum member who have seen people snap spokes on their wheels due to the side forces applied on the track. A handful of people on this very forum have chewed up good wheels because of track use but were perfectly fine on the street. But do what you want.

Trofeo R's have a wide shoulder. I told you that offsets count.
No... don’t know everything... not trying to argue... I’ve been going to the track for years since the ‘70s yep I’m that old... and never have seen a snap or have any major failure of a BBS wheel... yea have seen wheels made in China do crazy things... was following a Z06 on the track in my E46 M3 and his front wheel exploded to pieces... one thru my windshield... and yes the wheels rub in the rear over bumps or accelerating hard out to a sharp turn... car has never been in accident... only damage was a kiss from a 911 gt3rs on the drivers door...
And she still had temp plates!...
Ok... it’s the offsets based on the actual tire...makes sense... when I inputted the numbers into app ... ‘poke out 15.4 mm more than before’... so I based the 15mm a little over 1/2” ... measured how the pilot sports 4s fit on the car... so I guess the shoulders on the Trofeo Rs are wider ... Some black shoe polish on the fender edges to see where their rubbing... test drive in the morning...

Yeah there was a detailed thread on this last year. Forgeline for instance cuts the load rating for their forged wheels by half when r-compound tires are used. The forces are magnified when you use sticky rubber like that, and on a heavy car like ours you don’t have much leeway before you’re in the danger zone. Most, if not all, cast wheels aren’t even sufficiently load rated for track duty period, regardless of the tire compound. Many of the Chinese forged wheels aren’t either. On most cars you can probably get away with it, but on a heavy car capable of high speeds and high-g activity you want to have a safety buffer IMO.
Brakes, tires, wheels. Three things I want to have the maximum possible safety with. I don’t need to worry about these things on track, there’s already enough to worry about.
So I solve two problems by mounting the Pirellis on my oem wheels for the track and mount the pilot sports on the BBSs for street...
the rubbing on the rear fenders and the cast vs forged... Hope the 235/35 255/30 pilot sport 4s don’t rub with the 8.5 9.5 BBSs?..
at least my new Brembo rotors showed up... something to do tomorrow... rotors, brake fluid flush and a visit to the tire shop...

OEM width rims (8" F & 9" R) are MUCH to narrow to properly support 245 & 265 Trofeo Rs, in particular on a fat porker like a C63. You'd need 9" wide ET40 F & 10" wide ET50 R for those tire sizes.

Been there, done that. This is what happens when you (I) don’t listen to Doug. A bad day.
Rubbing - fender edge or eslewhere? If the coupes have the same rear internal fender join like the sedans that may be the source of your rubbing and a little hammer persuasion on the panel seam fold will fix it.
Rear Fenders edge rubs... picked up a fender roller and a little hammering should fix the rubbing...
now im confused.... if a 265/30 on a 9.5” et45 rubs... and a 265/30 on a 10” et 50 fit? ...
Based on the numbers from willtheyfit...
