I believe 923 is it, so yes. Another way to tell is the intake manifold. The uprated engine has a dark gray intake manifold, while the standard engine has a lighter, "raw" aluminum color.

Datacards always show "P30", not P31" when cars have the PP. If you have P30, you have the increased HP.

Was the P31 offered on 2010 models though?
I thought it was P30 from 2008-2010, and P31 from 2011-onwards

Let me try and rephrase my question differently, so that maybe you would be able to understand it...
Was the P THIRTY ONE package introduced in 2010 or 2011? I have only ever seen it on 2011 upwards models

@kimeran, to answer your question, it appears that the P31 AMG Development Package was added in 2010, which replaced the Performance Package (P30) on the 2008-2009. The P30 package had a stiffer suspension and LSD standard, while the P31 package did not include LSD (secondary option), gave up the stiff suspension, but increased power with a tune and SLS internals.

I wonder if that's the same in South Africa.
I have never seen a P31 2010, only ever seen P30s.

The changeover, to the new P31 reference for the Development or Performance Package, commenced with build dates sometime during December 2010.

ACTUALLY, thats not entirely true....the 487hp package began in October of 2009 and the PP was not for Performance Package but stood for Performance Plus. Thing is it was ONLY available in European market and was actually not originally planned for North American market at all, but demand here caused MB to change that beginning in December 2010 with mid-production run 2010 models. The 2009 produced cars with the Plus package were IDENTICALLY equipped as the units that showed up here 14mo later.

Its not that hard to find this information, Google is actually a pretty useful tool. There were MULTIPLE automotive programs and magazines not only reporting on the specs of the new Performance Plus model C63 but also having them on hand for testing purposes as early as July 2009. But again, these were European testers testing Europe ONLY production vehicles at the time.....
