TCU tune
Has any one been able to unlock and tune the TCU yet? I know all about the adjustments through the ECU but looking for actual TCU tuning.
Thanks H |
I think Weistec was the only one and they used to sell it stand alone but now you have to do their valve body upgrade to get it.

about 5 places do that today i j had a 3..07 turned into a 346 with rpm raised and sharper shifts speeddriven did it but i think they closed Eurocharged does it but they are having problems of going into limp mode.

Member Celicasaur also has a contact in the UK who can tune TCU
|
Maybe we need a sticky showing where to get ecu AND tcu programmed like maybe a list ,
|
I was under the assumption Weistec don’t tune the tcu, happy to be corrected. speeddriven do the e55 and v12 gearbox I believe. |

Weistec don’t offer the TCU/VB upgrade as a standalone anymore. I think I was the last one to get it. |
Its crazy how every C63 owner complains about the transmission being the negative part about the car and no other company in the past 10 years of this transmission being out has came up with a solution to feed the market . Believe me if I was a computer geek and could tamper with values and resistance for gears/clutch packs I would so offer a solution for the platform. So if any company out there is reading this that has the skills and knowledge messing with the 722.9 please work on a solution because it will sell !... at the end of the day a tcu is a tcu and it reads and records values from the ecu depending on load and targets for which then will it translate to shifting manner , There is nothing fancy about this transmission other then having the tcu built into the valvebody itself. ( Saturday venting )

They would certainly sell a bunch if someone would come up with a good flash. |

Uh, you’re wrong. Weistec offered this for many many years, and I bet they probably sold a dozen. The VB is a pretty fragile and complicated thing, not easy to work on, and having to take down the trans pan to remove that and the TCU to ship somewhere while your car is taking up space on a lift somewhere... not to mention the cost. This new crop of C63 owners are big talkers, but most are broke as hell and scraping together pennies for mods like that idiot Sactown. Tell them that they have to take apart their trans and their heads explode. There’s zero market for someone to invest the time and resources to develop something with a quick turnaround for the mass market. Only one-off dudes here and there as above. Removing the trans pan is a matter of a few bolts which is not the issue , yes it will tie up some space till the unit is returned but why is the VB in this trans so sophisticated over any other VB on the market ? Im sure I don’t need to explain what it actual does but it’s pretty straight forward for any experience engineer working within all these big company’s . Weistec did it why can’t anyone else ? It’s someone else’s chance to jump in and fill that void in the market for these cars as every true enthusiast is most likely looking for a fix to complete this cars downside . But I believe since it hasn’t been done by now it won’t randomly be developed because of new platforms that are being focused on . |
What we need is someone to program the newer c63 TCU on our cars.
the w205 shifts better with the same unit as ours. |
