2010 to 2014 C63 AMG questions
HI Everyone,
I am having a nice relaxing weekend and decided to look at cars to possible purchase (currently my wife and I are sharing a 2010 CRV. Since we work at the same company it has worked out), but we are def needing another car. The second car will be for me and being 42 now I am wanting to get something that is more fun to drive than the everyday kind of car. I noticed on Autotrader there are some nice used C63s for sale in the 2010 to 2014 model years for under $40k (would like to avoid going over that amount of money) and was hoping if some of you forum members can let me know what to look out for or inform me if one year of better than others.
I have also been looking at 2010 to 2013 M3s which look really nice in the same price range but I also know that they can suffer from rod bearings and throttle actuator. I just do not know enough about the C63 and if there is something that I need to look out for. Any information that you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated. Also, would you guys recommend getting a newer C450 or C43 over an older C63?
Thanks In Advance!!

Search head bolt issues on the C63, you probably want to just avoid the issue by getting a 2011 or newer car (or if older one that has the headbolts already done - if I was buying an earlier car I would factor in spending 3k on headbolts right away and then not have to worry about it). 2012 or newer are the face lift cars, so have the newer better looking front end, and you can definitely get into a post 2012 car for under 40k, 2012's and 13's are in in the mid 30's now with reasonably low mileage, a bit more if you want the P31 package with the additional power.

Stay away from old cars. Buy a lower mileage 12 and up. The only real reason people buy the older car is because of the price. If you can afford to be in the $28-$40 range there is no reason to get the older, headbolt issue having, much more dated looking car.
