2013 Mercedes C63 AMG install replacement intake manifold harness
We are purchasing a new intake manifold in our Mercedes and the Mercedes shop in Portland is telling us that they can't find a you tube video to replace the intake manifold along with the wiring harness and fuel injector harness to be able to tell us how much it will cost in labor????????????
Does that sound right??? Being a Mercedes shop, shouldn't they have access to this knowledge somewhere? Thanks so much. Marlene

Yeah taking the IM off is easy, but the electrical harness does not look fun to do. I mean, where does it end exactly - at the ECU?

Yeah that is actually pretty scary for a shop to say....it is literally a 10min job and there are WIS step by step directions literally all over the internet....also, the intake manifold bolts are TTY aluminum and are one time use, meaning that they MUST BE REPLACED when you pull the manifold (unless you replace with stainless bolts with anti-seizeanti-seize, then you can pull and replace all you want)

Guys, what about replacing the wiring harness for the IM and injectors?
I think we are all in agreement with the IM being dead easy to replace. But that wiring harness? If I remember correctly, that snakes around the entire engine and is all wrapped up with other assorted wires. If for whatever reason he needs to replace THAT also, it’s not real easy if I’m not mistaken.

I get that dude. I’m just saying that it doesn’t sound or look easy. Those specific sub-harnesses don’t just plug in and out somewhere. I think they are integrated into the main engine wiring harness which means he’s probably looking at cutting wires and splicing in, or unwrapping the whole thing back to the ECU. Neither option sounds very appealing.
