Hey, I purchased my car used two years ago. It has a eurocharged v5 tune done by the previous owner with the rear o2s turned off. ( He had headers and no cats ) The car has cats now
I can't pass smog because the monitors for the o2 heater and o2 sensor will not go to ready/complete. I've tried doing the test a few times to get the o2 heaters to come on and they won't
My car didn't come with Mygenius so im stuck
If i find a place with Star tool can they turn the rear o2s back on? Or because its a tuned file they will always be off?

You will never get the heaters ready either so you will have 2 not ready and not pass smog. You have 2 choices, since you didn't get the mygenius or buy the tune, you can't just turn them on, you can either buy a tune (any tune) and load it that has all the O2's turned on or you can have the factory software reloaded so your car is back to stock.

If you are planning on a tune, then probably not worth paying Mercedes to reload your software as that will cost a few hundred I would imaging and just go straight to loading a new tune.

Yeah that's what i figured kinda bummed the owner didn't throw in the Mygenius.. Screwed me over having the rear o2s turned off. Well i got in contact with Eurocharged im getting it tuned by them with the v7. Hopefully there's a power increase from v5 to v7

People seem to think they are worth something and keep them and then try to sell them and since the handheld is married to the car, they are basically worthless and a tuner can un-marry it but they pay a fee and charge you for the service which is about the same price as the handheld itself, so they are worthless really unless some sucker buys it and then get's screwed when they go to use it.

I put mine in the trunk by the fusebox for the next person, hopefully they find it - I also put the stock map back on when I traded it and left V5,V6 and 2 version of V7 on the handheld, on a USB drive and instructions for the next person - hope they found it and made use of it!

Just curious, did you purchase it private party? If so why didn't you try and contact previous owner and ask for the my genius to be able to flash back and forth? I know you bought it 2 years ago but its worth a shot. Worst he can say is no.

No it was a dealership.. I found him on here because he was selling the headers that was on the car when i purchased it. I thought i was getting the headers as well but they removed them. Talked to him for a bit and he disappeared. So Eurocharge said they will help me out.

My friend gave me his old mygenius he couldn't remember which company it was from and i found out it was from OE tuning and they wouldn't help me out at all... they will however switch it over to a different car for free if i purchased a tune from them.
